September End of Summer Trifecta Challenge

It's September. Soon summer will be over (along with the HEAT for us out west). To keep your training motivated heading into the fall we're having an End of Summer Trifecta Challenge. 

Pick three goals, of which at least two need to be triathlon events. Rank them in order of completion and see if you can hit the trifecta!

Here's how it'll work:

- Post in this thread you want in the challenge and include your three events for the month including the time, sessions, or distance. Also include the order in which you plan to reach the goals (to hit the trifecta).

- Challenge runs from September 1st to the 30th.

- For team rankings, weeks will run from Monday to Sunday. This gives us 5 'weeks' for the challenge, but the first and last are partial.

- Participants will be placed on teams with others. Team size is dependent on the number of people signed up by Tuesday the 1st. Late arrivals are welcome as this is a late announcement challenge. As usual, we'll do our best to honor chatty team requests.

- Log your results by Sunday night and I'll post team standings each Monday. Team spreadsheets will be set up in the normal Google Docs location.  If you haven't used this before:

Since it was fun last September I'm bringing back the school Mascots from Shawn's September challenge for the teams this year again:

Starting Team names / Mascots

Fighting Okra, Delta State University

Fighting Artichoke, Scottsdale community college

Stumpies, State University of New York

Nads, Rhode Island School of Design

Gorlocks, Webster University

Ephs, Williams College

Chanticleers, Coastal Carolina University

Billikins, St. Louis University

Black Flies, College of the Atlantic

Winners and Losers:

Winning Critera:
The winning team will be the one with the highest percentage of goals completed. There is a maximum of 100% completion for this challenge. A bonus 10% will be added to your total if you also complete your trifecta.

Winning team:
The winning team can add a signature line, "My team was a winner in the September End of Summer Trifecta Challenge!"

Winners:
People who meet their goal are WINNERS! You can add a signature line, "I reached my goals for the September End of Summer Trifecta Challenge!"

Losers:
People who fail to meet their goals will need to do one of the following:
      - Display an avatar that will motivate them for October.
      - Display a signature line, "I should have trained more so I could meet my September End of Summer Trifecta challenge goals."


In the event of injury/illness/personal crisis, you may request to be dropped from the challenge, without penalty.

If you achieve 100% of your goal before the month is over, you may request to raise your goal.

If you have an inactive teammate who signed up for the challenge and hasn't responsed or posted their sessions you can request they be dropped.

Smack talking:
-- Smack talking is not mandatory, but may be done. (Expect to see some from me.  )
-- Smack talk is different from a personal attack. If you aren’t sure what the difference is, err on the side of caution and do not post the comment. (Keep in mind that real people are reading your comments!)
-- Smack talking is not to be taken personally. If you get upset about a post, ignore it and move on.
-- If you find a post offensive, and cannot simply ignore it: Walk away from the computer until you feel better, OR better yet, go for a good workout. A nice workout can do wonders for your perspective.

alrighty.  here are my goals as they stand now.  just when i think i have things etched in stone, something happens to mess everything up.  but ive worked and reworked and reworked my fall schedule (one last revision) so these should be very close to being accurate.  if something changes, ill let you know:

TRIFECTA GOALS
#1 LONG RUNS (which includes a 10K race im using as a trng run)
40.2 miles

#2 LONG RIDES (which includes a 60 mile charity ride, non-competitive)
190 miles

#3 SWIM SESSIONS
292 minutes

 ill be biking AND running a whole lot more this month than what is stated here, but this way the most 'critical' sessions are accounted (and im held accountable) for.

If you guys don't mind a fairly fresh newbie who's still getting off the ground, I'd like to sign up for my first challenge!

Here's what I want to do:

1. Run a mile (doesn't matter how fast)
2. Swim 750m straight (doesn't matter how fast)
3. Bike my favorite trail (~13-14 mi) in one hour

Told you I was still getting off the ground :)

Here's what these goals mean for me:

1. I'm currently working at a 30 minute interval type thing of 5-6 min slow jogging, 5 min walking I'm hoping to double my running time to somewhere between 10-12 minutes and run a mile without stopping to walk for the first time in my life.
2. get back in the water after being completely land-bound for four or five months
3. go from an 11mph average for 45-50 minutes to a 13-14mph average for an hour. Will be slightly easier than it sounds given that the trail is fairly flat most of the way and I've been riding on hills around here.

Alright! I'm psyched! Let's get started!

I am in. I will be traveling to work in Alaska from the 19th of the month through Oct 2 so I need all the accountability I can handle.

Going to go with strength, run and bike. Will put goals soon.

My goals are:
#1 - to keep at it.

but tangible goals are
#1 - 12 runs (of at least 2 miles each)
#2 - Strength including core - 10 Sessions
#3 - Bike - 10 sessions of at least 30 min
#4 - eat healthy for at least 50% of the month. I need this with traveling since it seems like I always gain weight when I go to AK.
