So many questions here but overall....Any advice???
-- Do's / Don't's...
-- Remember to bring such-and-such...
-- Will you rinse your feet of sand (if ocean OWS) and if so, what is your routine?
-- Where do you lube under your wetsuit?
-- Use Glide or  Pam Cooking Spray?
-- Do you wear socks for bike portion and/or run...
-- Do you wear your sports watch on raceday?

What else ya got???

Thanks very much...happy training/racing!

Make a checklist or search for one here.
Bring a 5 gallon pickle bucket for rinsing the feet.
I find lube on wrists and ankles makes the wetsuit come off easier, and definately around neck/shoulders.
Use glide - PAM or other cooking oil damages the wetsuit so you can't patch it with glue.
If you can run with no socks, run with no socks. I can't. I hate blisters.
Race with the watch but lots of people don't. Depends how good you are at perceiving effort.

If you go to your own race tab below, on your scheduled race page you will see an extensive race checklist that you can customize, on the race page look for a tab lower left.

Bring a bike pump, toilet paper, garbage bag for wet and sweaty cloths after race, wet wipes
I use a damp rag to get dirt, sand and rocks off feet, for me its easy and takes up little room
Use body glide, put on neck and shoulders, these areas move allot under suit, you dont want friction or heat. Also put on wrists and shins for easy removal of suit, I personally put it on outside of suit around ankles and wrists also so when the suit folds over, the suit doesnt get stuck.
I always wear socks, during a race I got a blister on my foot and it affected my run and bike, you can get conditioned during training to be able to not wear socks, dont do it during a race unless youve trained that way. I like the extra cushion and sweat absorbtion socks provide.
Wear a watch if splits are important to you, often during races results are not posted for a few days, if they are T-1 and T-2 are not. Some people use watches for pacing on bike and run, others wear a heart rate monitor to measure intensity, its a personel decision. It does require a good memory to push your watch many times during the race to get accurate splits, I always forget atleast once and it messes everything up.

god Sealed i just saw this in my last race....rofl....the girls were quick bam bam transitioning in 30 seconds, guy comes in, looking fit, takes out the bucket and rinses his feet and towels them.

it wasn't his first time, he was riding a p3 with a disc.  it had a HIM sticker on it.....which made it even more funny.

-- Do's / Don't's...
Do be considerate of others.  Don't bring anything that isn't essential.

-- Remember to bring such-and-such...
Rehearse both T1 and T2 at home.  Write down everything you needed.  That's your list of things to remember.

-- Will you rinse your feet of sand (if ocean OWS) and if so, what is your routine?
No.  Quick brush-off with the hand.

-- Where do you lube under your wetsuit?
Ankles, neck, wrists.

-- Use Glide or  Pam Cooking Spray?
Body glide.

-- Do you wear socks for bike portion and/or run...
No.

-- Do you wear your sports watch on raceday?
Yes, but I always manage to screw it up.  Fortunately, they time these things for you.

What else ya got???
Have Fun!!!  And don't get mad at your brother.

The only thing I would add to the "what to bring" list is a bike pump and spare tire and tube.  If for some reason when you are setting up your area, you overfill the tube, or notice then that the tire is damaged, you will still have time to swap things out before the race itself.

If you normally use a watch or HRM or GPS in training, use it for the race as well.  I usually wear a cheap waterproof watch for the swim to get an idea of my time, then put on my Garmin 305 at T1 for the rest of the race.  Mostly I end up checking myself on the run, to keep up my motivation (only X more miles to go).

I've been using PAM for years, and my wetsuit is as good as new, FYI. But I do also use bodyglide to lube up neck, wrists and ankles.

Never bothered with a water bucket, and the people I see that have them, to be honest, it makes me laugh...transition should be about getting in, getting your stuff, and getting out as QUICK as possible.

Socks - for my sprint/oly distance races, I do not do socks...but I imagine next year, for my first 1/2 IM, I will wear socks (since I usually do for anything longer than an oly distance run), but it's important that if you're going to race that way, you need to train that way...get feet used to it.  If this is the case, then I ALWAYS put body glide on the outsides of both my biking and running shoes so they're able to slip on really easily.

Practice these, like another poster said, at home, as if you were in a race, to get the feel/flow of how it will go....I've gotten mine down to almost perfect, but I'm sure I will pick up something along the way from someone...I always do!

Good luck to you...and happy racing!!

Pam or cooking spray will void the manufacturer's warranty on most wetsuits. Just FYI.
I see lots of people using it without issue though.

Remember everyone does this stuff different.   I'm assuming this is your first Tri?

Transition Do's:  If you want to do it, do it.  Do whatever you think will help the first time and pair down from there.    Do get there early and stake out your spot.  If you bring everything but the kitchen sink, you are going to need the room.

Do a realistic mini-race and write down everything you use.  It's hard remembering what you need sitting on the couch.  I think forgetting goggles would be easy.

Transition Don't:  Don't get in others way.  If there is not a lot of room in transition, don't encroach on others space.  That's bad form.  Other than that it pretty much open.

Sandy feet:  Many people will bring something to rinse their feet off with, and others who have worked on getting faster in transition will just brush the sand off and go.  I took a foot bath thingy my first tri, a gallon of water my second, and a towel on my third.  Now i use my hand or a rag.  So, do what you like, you will be in good company either way.

Lube: feet, ankles, wrists, neck, shoulders, lower neck.  Just go ahead and put it all over, better not to miss a spot.

Socks:  I don't wear socks on the bike because it's a pain getting them on wet feet.  I do wear them on any run over 3 miles.  Blisters are also a pain.  Do what you have practiced.  I roll my socks up and put baby power in them.  They just roll up my feet.

Watch:  Yes!  That's what I am racing, the clock.

GOOD LUCK.

Good point.  I agree.  (I have a tool box with some basic bike tools, spare tubes, and stuff like that.  I throw it (and a pump) in the car.  I generally pump the bike up at the car and leave the pump etc. there.)
