Veteran 389   sacramento, Colorado |  Subject: Who licks their unwashed chest band HRM?i do it now mostly to gross out my wife. It says it needs water to make it work effectively and I'm not going to waste water letting it warm up so I just use a good lick. Sure it tastes a little salty but its effective. |

You could add the expensive of commercial EKG electrolyte gel, but saliva works fine. I generally put on my HRM chest strap, get some saliva on a fingertip, & apply to the strap. |

I can get away with that during the summer months, but during the winter, my skin is just too dry. |
