Subject: RE: HIM forecast: 50 degrees and rainingI just did my first HIM and it rained for a few hours in the morning (although the temp was in the 60s/70s, so it wasn't cold ). Based on a tip from someone else, I covered my bike and running shoes along with 2 pairs of socks in separate plastic grocery bags. That way they were dry when I put them on. The rain stopped while I was on the bike, so it was nice to have dry running shoes and new socks to change into. Also, you may want to use bodyglide (or some other anti friction stuff ) on your feet to avoid blisters. I am not usually blister prone, but with wet socks for most of the day (my running shoes got wet during the run even though it wasn't raining ), I ended up with some pretty big blisters by the end of the run. |
