I recall this was addressed in the past, here is the update from CNN:

House and Senate negotiators on an energy bill agreed to begin daylight-saving time three weeks earlier, on the second Sunday in March, and extend it by one week to the first Sunday in November. The House bill would have added a month in the spring and another in the fall.

Lawmakers said they hoped to complete the energy legislation next week.

Whoo-hooo More time to train o/s!!!

They could go to year-round and it would be hunky-dory with me. I might even ride my bike in the winter.

How does it give you more time to train? They aren't making it a 25 hour day!

...although W did have that as his answer on his college entrance exam.

I'm glad  you all are happy. I have a hard enough time as it is trying to 1) get my kids to go to sleep when the sun is up, and 2) getting my kids to wake up when the sun is not up. If this passes, I'm going to have to lobby my state rep to change us from Eastern to Central time.

The sun isn't up in the mornings there?

I love DST. In the morning it's light here sometime between 4:00 and 5:00am. Without DST, that would be sometime between 3:00am and 4:00am.

Of course that is when it is sunny.

Nope - we're on the very western edge of the Eastern time zone.

No fair.  We here in Arizona don't get to save any daylight.  It's the same boring time day after day, month after month, year after year....

We don't get to save any daylight here too.   The west aussie farmers all protest that their cows won't produce any milk if they (the cows) have to get up earlier.  and their curtains will fade with more daylight.  (hehehe seriously we have had so many referendums on the subject and it always gets rejected!)
