Subject: RE: Winter Running ClothesI really learned to tolerate the cold weather once I moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. When living in Ohio, I was always scared off by the cold. Over the last 2 years, I've become quite comfortable in extreme cold. I have been amazed at how little clothing it really takes to stay warm. For days when I was running in temps of -40F (yes that's a minus in front of the 40 ) - actual temp by the way. In that weather, I wore a technical long sleeve shirt, fleece jacket (windproof ). For the legs, I wore tri-shorts, thermals, and a layer of tights. Socks were just a single Smartwool sock. Shoes just regular shoes. Hat was just a regular winter hat (aka toque ) with ear flaps and a face mask.
In temps of -20F, it felt like summer time.
Get out there and run in the cold ! It's a great time and once you're used to it, it really is nice out.
