Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am another one of those that wants the ridiculous BCS blown up. Every week we see another one or two undefeated teams drop. I know I know, Boise plays blind girls and TCU takes down the deaf kids each week but I am finding the arguments pretty funny on who is better than them. Not sure if anyone listens to John Kincade on ESPN radio on Sunday mornings but he is getting funnier by the week. First it was Ohio State and Bama are heads and toes over Boise, then Oklahoma and this morning he goes with the Michigan State, Missouri, Oregon and Auburn rant. I'll give you Auburn and Oregon but really on MSU and Mizzo? Raise your hand if you had them in your top 50 to start the year. So after all the undefeateds lose, then does it take a second loss to give these "lesser schools" a chance or should they just not be ranked and allowed to play at all? Also I am glad the ACC and Big East get a team each in the BCS! |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yeah the Big 12 is just a huge mess right now. Mizzou the favorite to win the conference? Baylor on top of the South Division? Top 3 South Division teams losing to North Division teams? On the same day? Two of them at home? I'm just thankful I get to go to the NU-Mizzou game this Saturday! P.S. I think the BCS is stupid too. |

Even outside of that program, you might be surprised as to how many "deaf kids" are/were 2-3 year starters in D-I programs. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() First off.... WAR EAGLE!!! Second... Any person being honest with themselves can look at the top ten and pick at least 2 if not 3 teams that should not even be considered. The local college here in Mobile just started their program last year and they haven't lost a game yet.....does that mean they should be in the top ten?!?!...even though they are only playing fluff opponents like Hargrave Academy that no one has heard of... I think Kirk Herb. said it best last night when he was actually trying to argure for Boise....."if you are going to look at who a team beats to judge how good they are....then they shouldn't even be ranking Boise and TCU".....my argument is how can you not look at that?!? |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So after all the undefeateds lose, then does it take a second loss to give these "lesser schools" a chance Yes. Boise State was 13-0 in 2006 when Florida took the national championship with a 13-1 record. |

Obviously not a D1 school, so that argument is out but what I am asking is legit. Should these teams be disqualified from being ranked? Should Michigan State be out because this year the schedule helps them by not facing Ohio State and Penn State is down this year? What is the criteria? |

It doesn't exist!!! Period!!! There is such a thing as the BCS College Football National Championship...and because they are not governed by the NCAA, they can choose however they want to crown their champion. If they only want to let the big boys play...it's up to them. So really folks...don't get too caught up and bent out of shape in trying to crown or determine "the true national champion"...because in the history of college football...it's never happened. Why should we start now? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yeah, lets bring in a play off system where the regular season will be as meaningful as basketball. |

The ACC is still (even with FSU, Miami, and Va. Tech being down) better than the conference Boise is in... |

Should a 1 loss team that loses to AUburn, like LSU be automatically out of contention in favor of a Boise or TCU team that plays next to no one? Strength of schedule has to count for something. Boise's schedule is an absolute joke. I know it's impossible to answer and based on total speculation, but would Boise be looking at an undefeated season every year if they were in the PAC-10, Big-10 or SEC. I think they wouldn't run the table in the ACC having to face FSU, Miami and Va. Tech every year. Now I know you aren't supposed to hold a teams conference schedule against them, but their non-conference shcedule can be held against them and their non-conference schedule is a joke too. Schedule a pernial powerhouse, an OU, or OSU,. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Here is about the only play off system I would like to see...maybe... All teams converge into four super conferences. ( Northeast, Southeast, Northwest Southwest) Each conference has a conference championship game. ( ie SEC west v/s SEC east). Then each Conference Champion has an (East West or a North South) play off game determine the top two. These to then play for the National Championship. Of course there would have to be special consideration payed to who went to what conference to try and keep things even, plus not disrupt any huge rivalry games. |

I agree, they'd be a good fit for the Pac-10(12). Right now the combined records of all the teams Boise has played is 18-27. They've played only two teams with winning records (Va. Tech and Toledo) What ticks me off about Boise is that at the beginning of the year we're saying if they can get by their first game they should run the table. And it's not because they are the OU of the 1970's or Bear's 'Bama squads, it's because they only play one tough game a year. I dispise Boise. |

Schedule a pernial powerhouse, an OU, or OSU,. How can you complain about non-conference when they schedule good schools like VTech and OSU. These schedules are done 3-5+ yrs in advance. The top schools REFUSE to play Boise - then they complain they don't play anyone! If the NCAA doesn't want the non BCS schools in the championship talk they should get rid of them in D1A (FBS). But they can't because they couldn't fill there schedues. You despise Boise because they only have a couple touch games per year - but that is not there fault. I don't hear about them turning down games or having turned down an invitation to a super conference. Boise has been beating big schools year in year out - often on the road. Let's have a Auburn, LSU or other school say they will pay Boise for a home and home for the next several years. Edited by RedShark 2010-10-26 3:40 PM |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow lots to talk about here. first of all Boise cannot just pick a conference and say we want to be there. So until the pac 10/12 invites them all they can do is schedule some good out of conference games win those games then beat all of the weak WAC teams they play. Second if it is so easy to win all your games for 3 years in a weak conference then why are none of the teams in conference USA or other weak conferences doing it. Third I have not heard anyone say that Boise would go undefeated in SEC, PAC 10, but what about the ACC and Big east they are horrible Boise would win either one of those conferences and they are AQ schools. Last point how does Auburn jump from 4th to first by beating the 6th place team that is total crap Oregon should have been number 1 I could see Auburn going to number 2. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() IdahoCraig, just for fun and not some long bebate..here is a box score of ECU (Conferance USA) vs Boise State. What a great game. Chris Johnson had a great night and frankly this game propelled him to the spotlight for the NFL. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=273570151 BTW, I like the BS program and what they have done with it over the last several years. My Pirates are in CUSA and we continue to beat the likes of VT, Miami, WV, NCSU over the years. Sometimes we get it handed to us behind the woodshed but my Pirates usually show up to play. If we go undefeated (or 1 loss), ie 11-1 1991, we get nothing but the Liberty Bowl, now. Then it was at large Peach Bowl vs a team from our own state. I wish there was a playoff for everone to have a shot. This year will be interesting. Personally, after reviewing YTD info, I think Auburn and Oregon are ranked about right in the beauty pagent. But I think souhern girls take the prize! |
