Here's the Crazy 8s Roster so far:

Machiavelo
skavoovie
nliedel
TriMom3
harmony
ChrisM

Get setting goals, and let me know if Mach is going to continue as captain, or if another player is taking the helm.

Team Crazy 8's - August Challenge

5. Scavoovie--

6. ChrisM-----

I guess that nobody wants to step up to be Captain so I'll take it over I guess.  I just ask that everyone send me their stats every week on Sunday that I may send them to you on time.  I will not, as I have done in July, go look for everyone's stats.  And please, just send me the stats in this order: S 10,000 / B 100 / R 50.  Do not write in yards, meters, miles, hours, or anything else, just the number.

All right kids, I've usurped power from Machiavelo, so I'll be captain for August. I have no idea what the position entails....but hopefully I'll figure it out by the end of the month. The important thing is that you PM your progress to me. We can keep the same format as before. Now, let's get revenge on the world for last month's challenge! Go Crazy Eights!

Ok. I thought about it and think that I would like to participate this month again if it is ok with everyone.  I didn't quite finish my goals last month but I know I can do it this month!  Last month we had a week of travel, a week of puking and more!  School starts again this month on the 15th so I am going to have a little more time without the girls.  I have no idea about distances though because I am such a beginner I work on time rather than distance.  Are you guys only doing distances?  If so, I will have to pass because I don't know how to figure that out yet.  Thanks!

I have decided to change my challenge miles and yards to kms and meters.  I find it easier to deal in metric as the odometer on my bike is set to it and the pool is in meters.   So here is the corrected (same distance actually) challenge figures as well as the rest of the team:

1. Machiavelo - S 12,000m / B 500km / R 50km

2. harmony --- S 20,000y / B 110mi / R 25mi

3. Trimom3 --- S 10,000y / B 275mi / R 40mi

4. nliedel ------ S 8,000m / B 160mi / R 120mi

5. Scavoovie--

6. ChrisM------- S - 35,000y / B - 250m / R - 35m

7. Tootall--------

Well, after thinking about this overnight, I've decided that I'm not going to sign up for the challenge this month.  I have some other stuff I need to focus on, and I don't want to stress myself out trying to hit goals if something comes up that I need to take care of.

Have a great challenge guys!

Thanks for the welcome - I need to change my goals after looking at my calendar last night, losing two days, and a race in there.  I should come down to 200 on the bike, and that's pushing it, and drop some swim yds in order to get that done, so I am at:

S - 30,000 yds/ B - 200 M/ R - 35 M

I'm a man of science, so I hate all non-metric systems. Umm...so I guess I need some goals. Running and biking are out because I need to heal. So here's my very ambitious goal: 30,000 meters swimming.

So, I was on a team that was disbanded. This is my first challenge, but I'm up for it. I set my goals in minutes....Can I still be a part of Crazy 8s?

Thanks!
Core/Strength: 400 mins
Swim: 250 mins
Bike: 450 mins
Run: 200 mins.

Guess I'd better get working!

Hello guys!!

Sorry for the delay, but I've been hard at work for three days straight!!!   Well, I've actually been at work, but not really that busy!  Anyway, I'd like to be a Loco Ocho again this month...if it's not too late.

I have to look at my schedule (work and training) and figure out what my goals will be, but I will post them shortly.

We are closing in on our first week of the August Challenge. How is everyone doing?

I have issues with my pool. If it isn't closed for maintenance, it's closed for some kind of special class or bad weather. Too bad it isn't open at 1 a.m. Maybe then I could have more access.

I am working on my olympic training schedule (3rd week before the tri) so this is the big one.  I should be tapering off for the next two weeks though:

Bike: 6h 22m 54s - 150.57 KM (30%)
Run: 1h 45m 40s - 14.5 KM (41%)
Swim: 1h 44m - 3600 M (30%)

I was supposed to do 77 minutes of swimming in the pool today but I have an open water water mini camp scheduled for tomorow at Meech Lake.  I don't know how many meters we'll be swimming but it should make up for it.

Haha I've done NOTHING! I just learned how to program in Matlab, and it has taken over my life! They should warn people about this. But it's cool, because the sweet program I wrote will increase productivity so much that I can leave work hours early to go work out from now on.

Yeah I'm the captain, but I'm too busy enjoying the weather to look at the site

I have sent in our progress for "week 1," and overall things look pretty good. I'm definitely holding the team back, so I'll be hitting the pool tomorrow. Go crazy 8's!

Oh Captain, my Captain our fearful trip is not done.... you have 24 more days to make up for your lack of training.  By my "figuring" you can meet your 30,000 meter swim challenge by doing in 1,250 meters per day!  Good luck!!!

I am sure that all team members will meet their goals and probably exceed it.  We have a great team!  :-)

Dang, 1250 meters every day? I don't want to do ANYTHING every day. Except whine. I can do that nonstop.

By the way, good work on the honorable mention in the 1st week rankings. Since you're working out for two already, you can have some of my goals. Enjoy!
