But I did introduce my daughter to Star Wars at an early age, starting with the original trilogy. She hasn't seen final movie (chapter III) yet, as I don't think she's quite ready to see Anakin become Darth Vader. |

If they are big enough SW Nerds by the end of the above, they'll seek it out themselves. If you can't talk them out of it (and you can't... I mean... they do have the version of the Boba Fett toy that causes a choking hazard after all...) then all you can do is damage control, which I'll try to demonstrate below. After they finish watching the bootleg they no doubt bought at a Sci-Fi / Comic Convention, you need to take them to a dark room... things that are very important to have in the room include some Sprite, saltine crackers, a blanket spread across the floor for them to curl up on, a toilet to vomit in, a bucket to vomit in when they can't make it to the toilet, a box of tissues, a George Lucas Voodoo doll to stab, possibly some anti-depressants. After a while (it took me about 6 months) they will start to re-adjust to normal life... |

It's close, but it's probably the only thing worse then The Phantom Menace. |

I give you, I'm a Mel Brooks fan, but in light of all the "Official Star Wars Fan Film Award" parodies / video's... Space Balls lost a little luster |

No way man. Episode 3 is an awesome movie. ...btw, ANY movie with Natalie Portman is worth watching from my perspective. I had to post in this thread as I was busy earlier tonight showing my 7 and 4 year olds the original Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back trailers on Youtube. Man! Have movie trailers come a long long way since then! |

He's only seen Star Wars and the first Harry Potter movie, others are still to scary for him at this point (that's what he tells us) |

Elite 3683 Whispering Pines, North Carolina | Subject: RE: Having that 'talk' with your kids about Star Wars Recently, my son received (as a gift) tons of (older) Star Wars toys..I was out there playing with him for hours at a time. I figured that once he got the main names down (Yoda, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Luke, Obi, Darth Vadar, etc.), he'd be ready to watch the movies (he's 4). We started with Episode 4 and from the second that movie started, he was running out to the garage and grabbing every character that appeared in the movie... The best part was a few days later when we watched The Empire Strikes Back! During the battle on the ice planet (Hoth?), he practically yelled, "Daddy, I have those outside!!!" and I had to help him bring in the larger toys (AT-AT and AT-AS) so that we could play on the rug while watching... I cannot wait until I can watch the subsecuent movies with him...it will be FUN! |
