Obama has sent out copies of his birth certificate, again.

Can we get on with running a country and NOT wasting time on idiocy like this.

And Donald Trump? Really? That's the guy people want to represent the country? My British friends are mocking the U.S. endlessly about this one. How embarrassing.

I agree about the Birth Certificate issue even though I'm no Obama supporter.  The rest of the world is mocking us with Obama as president.  What would be the difference with Trump?  I'm not a Trump supporter either but at least he's worked in the private sector and knows what it takes to make it run.  Electing Obama was a popularity contest and electing Trump would be the same thing

There needs to be a test or more stringent voting requirements or something.  Voting is a privilege and should be taken seriously.  18 and breathing just doesn't cut it.

Your British friends have Prince Charles and Camilla - I'm not worried.

Really? Once again that is not a birth certificate. That is a certificate of live birth. Not the same. Anyone born anywhere can get a certificate of live birth. It proves nothing. Yeah I think he probably was born in the US but be very clear nobody has ever seen a real birth certificate.

I was born in Hawaii and I never received a birth certificate.  I do have a certificate of live birth, but for some reason Hawaii just does things differently.  I'm not president, but I can relate to Obama on this issue.  People need to get over this.

Not sure how you define `private sector' but you do know that Obama was a lawyer before becoming president, right?

Trump is a buffoon who can't even keep his own companies above water. They filed for bankruptcy at least twice in the '90s and condos at that eyesore of a building in Chicago sold very slowly, though that could be blamed partly on the decline in the economy. Still, as allegedly savvy as he believes himself to be, perhaps he should've seen it coming.

On top of that it's like watching a circus clown perform with `The Apprentice' and his endless rants about Obama's birth locale. To even include him in the discussion is embarrassing.

Its actually a pretty savy move.  Obama says the issue is a distraction & he did this to move past it, but the more this is in the news, the more time the r's spend either a) claiming he's ineligible and sounding like a wacko (and making the entire party sound like a bunch of whackjobs, even if it's just a small part that believe this) or 2) saying he was born here and alienating the wacko part of the base.  And whichever one of those they're doing is time that they aren't spending talking about things that could actually hurt Obama such as gas prices.

Disclaimer: I am no Obama fan

Just listened to his press conference and I only have to say political GENIUS!!! He's been keeping this in his back pocket and picked a great time to produce it.

I'm surprised he didn't wait a little longer until this book came out:

I don't define private sector as having a law degree and working as a lecturer at a law school (although the school was private).

I have a Mechanical Engineering degree but never worked in the field.  Doesn't mean I'm an engineer.

Only answered b/c you asked Smile  I responded to a political thread against my own judgement.. what was I thinking.. lol

To be sure, he worked as an associate and as counsel for a very large Chicago law firm for about 12 years, I believe.

And if you think you were crazy for responding to one, how crazy am I to have started one!?

Really?  Yes, it is.  It's what Hawaii issues. They don't issue a birth certificate, they issue a certificate of live birth.  Your state may see a difference but that doesn't mean that's what Hawaii.

Yea its unfortunate that Trump doesn't have the power to quadruple his debt then just push his creditors to raise the debt ceiling.

True. Because if he could, he would. No, instead, he just says `I'm not going to pay back my loan on that building because it's not selling well.' Now that's just good business.

While it wasn't bad timing it wasn't great timing either.   I was thinking he would wait till the elections to see if a birther was running against him, then produce it for an instant smackdown.

mabye this will get off the news and we can go back to important stuff like the royal wedding.
