For races I get the whole marking waves of folks by different colors; but for you bald guys what do you do in the pool for training?  Train like you race?  Or do you let your chrome dome do the work of creating the "bow wave"?

I used to wear one occasionally to get used to it, but now I'm used to it. I only wear them for races (if required - did a pool race where it wasn't required) and OWS.

I did the same, wore it to get used to it but now never. I hate them, feels like i put my noggin in a vice. If i'm doing open water i will wear it just to be safe though..

For races and when my bald spot gets sunburned.

I've worn it a few times just to get used to it before my first tri, but overall, I don't like how it feels and don't wear it.

Started swimming a few months back non-bald, didn't see the need then. Now I'm shaved and have no need. The first time I ever put one on was just to get ready for my first OWS in a race, and the second time was the race itself.

I never wear one outside of races except for once or twice before a race for preparation.  But if I was bald I might consider one for protection against sunburn if outside. Good idea for OWS anyway for visibility!

No need indoors. For open water, especially this last weekend, a cap helps keep me warmer! Bright colors are also more visible to boaters, and it protects me from sunburn.

Nope ... no cap.  When I do a race that requires one I'll practice with it before.  I love the short/no hair thing

I'm not bald and never wear a swim cap except when racing or in open water (and then it is in hopes that a boat will see me if one happens by).

I have done a lot of kayak support for OWS both in races and in just practice.  The bright color of a cap is the best defense against being lost in the sea of bodies or even just in the water.  Swimmers who wore black or dark caps or had dark hair without caps became almost invisible.  The bright yellow, or orange, or even pink were easy to see and keep my eye on for any problems.

Personally I hate a cap and only wear one in OWS, and I still have hair, well except for a spot here or there.

I never wear a cap in the pool. If I get a chance to ows I will wear one, but other than that, only for races.

Never hide the chrome, except for races (or sunburn - that upside-down thermometer thing gets old in a hurry).
