It should be nestled on a toasted bun and the cheddar cheese should be melted but not sliding off the meat. The bottom bun would be slathered in mayo, the top bun wiped with a little mustard and plenty of ketchup. Three dill pickle slices would rest on the cheese and on top of that would rest one layer of lettuce and one slice of a ripe tomato. I would cut it in half so as to make it manageable.

It would be served with a side order of crispy, crispy fries. All would be quaffed down with a cold, cold Warsteiner.

Ahhhhh... then god's in his heaven and all's right with the world.

Yeah....except for the poor cow who'd be lending his flesh for your little snack.  You should be ashamed!

Nah, I'm a carnivore. The cow isn't lending his/her flesh; the cow is gone.

Say NO to the foie gras ban!!!!!

Renee, I was craving a burger last night. I don't eat meat that often so when I crave it I usually give in. Just a suggestion...

Renee, on the grill burgers are the best. I love burgers just ask Runnergirl (she makes fun of me cause I eat them a lot).

I noticed the other day on a bike ride that the local Fuddruckers went out of biz here in Nashville, they have the best burgers.

I tell you what is really great on a grilled burger Renee, put some pepper jack cheese on it....

I cant belive someone said "poor cows", that is why we even have them. If we did not eat cows they would be extinct because they are too stupid to do anything else.

So on the thread list, this is titled "Crrrrrrrrrrrraving a bur..." -rito? No...-ger...

I though Renee had rambled on over to the dark side there for a second...

I don't dislike burritos, I just don't get cravings for them. And I don't like those enormous burritos - I don't like any food that is overdone/overblown. Don't supersize me, for the love of god!

The red, juicy, medium rare burger on the other hand... that seems to be a once a month craving. Before I began training I rarely craved it (maybe twice a year).

I don't eat red meat often but when I get the craving I give into it prontisimo.

Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, Pepsi!

I used to work a couple of blocks from the burger joint that inspired the SNL skit (Belushi/Akroyd). It's in Chicago just a couple of blocks from the Civic Opera House building on Wacker.

I am the same way. I would rarely eat red meat, just didn't have a desire, but training has changed that. Before this year, I couldn't remember the last time I had a steak. At least a couple of years.

I thought this was a Burrito thead as well. Even more ironic was that I had a Burrito craving and was eating said burrito while reading the thread. The guy working at my burrito place (TQs) knows me and calls me "brosef".
Sorry back to the Burger talk. Best Burger ever is at a place called Huey's in memphis, TN.

That place is awesome! The toothpicks on the ceiling right?! Voted one of the best in the country on the Travel Channel I believe.

That would be The Billy Goat Tavern, under Michigan Ave. Second home of Mike Royko.
We ate there once or twice while visiting.

I love the Chicago habit of having a beer at lunch. Oh, and the beer girl in the train station. $2 and you're set for the train ride home.

Renee,

Have the burger. If you are jonesin' that hard. Give in. But next time when you have a smaller craving, fight it.

You ahve to give in once in a while. You just can't all the time.

Give in. Run an extra couple miles.
