Subject: Anyone up for a pint?
I've come to the conclusion that I would like to sit down for a pint with my wife, Renee, Chuckyfinster, Dontracy, possum, run4yrlife, opus and coredump and just see what happened. I personally think it would be a blast. I'd even be willing to cover the bar tab up to $150, after that you're all on your own.

I'm not really sure what would ultimately happen, but I get the sense it would be a blast. My local pub has outside seating which is good because I think things would get loud after the first round.

wow, I'm invited to a party!

what is really funny (and I can;t believe I am about to admit this) is that when I read the thread title, I read PINT to rhyme with FLINT. I must be reaaaaaaaaally tired!

can we please talk about something non contraversial, like, say, sex? Anyone who is not in favor of sex, speak up now.

I'm flattered to be invited to have a pint with you.

Possum, run4yrlife, coredump and I will be in St. Pete for the St. Anthony's triathlon. It would be great if you and your wife could make it up here (2 hour drive?) and we could have a BT meeting of the minds. (I'm willing to put anything on the table for discush - I trust everyone on the list to respectfully talk to each other.) I should warn you that I might break out in song if I have too many pints; I'm a sing-y kind of drunk.

I know it won't be the same without Chuckyfinster, Dontracy and Opus but sometimes ya gotta make do, ya know?

Well the SUBJECT LINE made no mention of invitees so I checked it out.  Then there was the mention of YAHAA TIME and that's such a wonderfully diverse topic I HAD to chime in.

Of course if this heads that way it will head the way of the other thread that never existed.

Okay, if we're not on the "A" list, then let's have our own "B" list get together at St A's.  I've got the first round...we'll show those snobs...bet we'll have more fun too!

Actually, run4yrlif won't be at St. Anthony's because he's going to Nashville Country Music Marathon with TNT and that's the same weekend as St. Anthony's.  Looks like he'll need a proxy.

Ok. No offense meant. I'm game any BT'ers at St Anthony's, I'll try to meet at a local watering hole, and I'll keep my offer open for a $150 tab on my account. The only condition is it has to be a place that serves Newcastle on tap or where I can get a Black-and -tan.

And runner girl, you're always invited in my book. I can use all the support I can muster, especially against Renee.

I've never actually met another BT'er ( you are all probably finished, and packing the car by the time I finish), it's be kinda cool to put faces to names. Anyway, offer stands.

Cool. I'm in. Thanks!
[edit: can't make St Anthony's]

I'll want to celebrate the fact that Possum and I agree about something. I'm still glowing from that. I really like her, and now we agree on top of it.

Hey listen, all you also rans, I never make anyone's A list. This is the time for some of us former also rans to have our place in the sun.

This also sounds like a cousin to the who-do-you-want-to-train-with-thread.

So who do you want to raise a pint with?

I'll hoist a pint ( or three ) with BT'ers anywhere/anytime over any subject.

What can I say, I'm easy.

I can use all the support I can muster, especially against Renee.

Hey now (!), there will be no 'againsting' Renee.  Renee doesn't expect anyone to agree with her, nor does she expect anyone to change their opinion or bend to her formidable will.  Renee wants to be heard; that is all.

If I am understood, as well, that would make my day. I like to understand people and be understood. That comes with a free exchange of ideas, a meeting of the minds.

And, I promise not to refer to myself in the third person while we're having pints. Unless I get to the singing stage of inebriation, then all bets are off.

Four Green Fields - just minutes from the Gasparilla Marathon venue - bona fide Irish pub with genuine thatch roof. You can have all the Black & Tans your heart desires.

I'm sure it would be great! I would be very surprised if it was anything but a harmonious good time. The key for me is not that we agree, but that we all have open minds. That always guarantees a good time!

If I could bring my wife that might spice things up, she's a lawyer too!

Unfortunately, I don't make it down to the Southeast very often. Although we do have an office in Greenville, S.C...

No, thanks. I prefer to humiliate myself with a small group of my closest friends, not with an entire bar full of strangers. I've never karaoked, never will.

About 3 blocks from the Gasparilla Run race start.

Not a bad place to throw back a few beers. If you don't mind their support of Sinn Fein.
