Did you get a real or fake ______ (insert your holiday) tree? I think I had an 10 inch fake tree when I was 15. That was the only tree I ever gotten.

(I am leaving this as an open poll cus' it's more fun.)

Fake and pre-lit.  Yes, we are a tad lazy, but we do hang the ornaments ourselves!

I had the "coat hanger with green paper tree" when I was a kid. I now live in the countryside with a little land behind my house, this is planted with arious trees -- Christmas trees being one type!! I cut my tree from my woods, with my wife and 3 kids. We dress it together, it tacky but a pretty cool tradition for us.

It beats the old traditions of "un-bending the wire" and playing "guess which wire is live" that we had in the 70's!

Fake now.  Used to buy a balled tree to plant in the yard after Christmas.  Wife and girls are have allergies so that is not possible.  We have all fake greenery.

I have a fake tree, but it sheds so many needles that I'm thinking about getting a real tree next year. Are fake trees supposed to shed so much? I'm still vaccuuming up needles from last year.

Went to a fake (pre-lit!) tree after having real trees forever.  It is SO much easier.  It comes in 3 pieces.  Then I light a candle to get the real tree smell

Fake.  It's about 2' high.

Seems like I'm not the only one with pine-scented candles for that memorable smell.

A 7 foot fake tree. Was given it by the inlaws. It's a really high quality tree, can't tell that it's fake when you first look at it.

Fake. With a real tree, the smell is nice but lasts about three days, then you're picking needles out of the carpet year-round.

To further quote Jackie Chiles from that episode, my Christmas trees are always "real and spectacular"

Going this afternoon with the kids to buy a real tree.

Wish they came a bit fresher.  I do the cut the bottom two or three inches thing, and the feed it the water with molasses and baking soda and a drop of bleach thing, but they just don't smell like they use to.

We'll put the tree up today and decorate it Christmas Eve.

We keep the tree up until Candlemas, February 2nd.

Ditto! Ours isn't even up yet. Maybe I can pay a neighbor kid to do it.

Two real trees this year. An 8' noble fir in the living room, with the "nice" ornaments, and a 6' grand fir in the family room with all the kids' homemade ornaments, and a few from mine and my husband's childhood. I've never had a fake tree. When we are too old to chop our own down at the local tree farm, we may just have to go the fake route (then have our kids assemble it for us.)

My nephews will be staying with me for Christmas, so I'm getting a real tree for their pleasure this year. I hate fake trees; they feel empty.

Otherwise, no tree.

I have both. The fake pre-lit tree has clear lights and gets decorated all in red ornaments. The real tree gets colred lights and all kinds of ornaments and ribbons and stuff. Then the kids have a 3 ft. fake tree for all their ornaments too. I didn't put up the fake tree this year because the house is for sale and didn't want it to look too cluttered.

Must be a Wonder Twin thing. We do one of each too.

Fake on the 2nd floor landing in the foyer and real on the ground floor. Why? Because I can and it looks cool.

my apartment has 9' ceilings, and I bought a 9' tree.  looks great.  fake trees are stupid.  the tree also sits in the dining room, which is painted in a deep red color.  it looks awesome lit up at night with all white lights.  good for me.  self pat on the back.

At my mothers house we always had a birch tree... no needles to worry about... at my fathers we had a real pine tree, that reaches the very top of our two story log cabin. This year living by myself I probably wont get one at all.

So I have all the options!! Jamie
