Kind of makes sense for me to be on the Great Lakes team. I live a few miles from Lake Ontario and half of my runs are along the Erie canal.

Good luck though.

You'll need it!

30 miles here.  Not a lot.  As I said, I'd like to get back into the pool after 6 weeks off...

I, for one, will sincerely appreciate and require your spirit. This is going to be a tough challenge for me, but if it were not, I guess it wouldnt be a challenge, huh? HA!

YAY ISIS!

I hope each of you are checking out my "SUMMER RIDE" Thread in the MASSACHUSETTS area.

What's our name? New England Road Runners? New England Hamsters (since we'll be spending most of our time on the dreadmill, heh heh)?

"NE Striders" is also good, I think.  But I don't mind being a Hamsters for a month

I volunteered Jorge (Amiine) to be our captain again.  Can't believe that he's going to run a 1/2 mary this wekeend "just for fun".

As my dad said when I was applying for grad schools: "Well, if they determined residency based on where you were conceived, you'd be from Massachusetts..."

So I'd like to join the New England team, if you'll have me.

I think we can take Ellie -- NJ is close enough, and her first days (or hours at least?) were spent here in the Commonwealth of MA.

Team name vote?  I like the NE Humming Hamsters (is there a "P" in hampsters....no, I don't tink so) since the treadmill hums and we can all hum as we run to take the boredom out of it, just a little.

Plus, it goes with my favorite pirate saying:  "ho ho hum and a bottle of rum!" which I'll modify for Feb to become "ho ho hum 40 miles here to run!"

Sign me up, -Sunny  (Feb goal:  40)

Oh yeah, Ellie has ties to MA so she's definitely a member if she's into it in my book.

Humming Hamsters, I'm ok with this but there is no P in it.

ham·ster   Audio pronunciation of ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (hmstr)
n.

A small Eurasian rodent of the subfamily Cricetinae, especially Mesocricetus auratus, having large cheek pouches and a short tail and often kept as a pet or used in laboratory research. Known to run on small wheels to pass time much like a triathlete in training in the North Eastern part of the United States during the long cold winter months. **SEE BT.COM February challenge-New England Team (the NE Humming Hamsters).

I actually added that last part in just to be clear.

(the NE Humming Hamsters).

Tell USAT that.  New York is considered part of the New England region.  I'm not sure why.  LOL  Though I live closer to CT then New Jersey.

Count me in for New England.

I haven't heard a thing from Jorge about the run challenge (did I miss it?) so I vote for MAtriMom! She should be the head humming hamster!

Let's finish up the Swim Challenge! ONE MORE DAY! LETS BEAT THE TRISTARS!

I don't know if you all need, but I'd love to pitch in some miles for February. I'm pretty new to the site, so I am not sure how to go about lending a hand (or two feet, as the case may be)

30 miles for February.
