Team Captains:

As I suspect you are also receiving some results straggling in, if you would please utilize the following Excel spreadsheet format for posting your weekly results, it will make tabulation and comparasion much easier throughout the process ...

THANKS!

Subject: RE: March Madness WK#1 Totals

Team Captains:

I have updated the spreadsheets to add a "Week 5" to cover the period of March 27-31 ... aka "The Final Stretch".  As such, I have also altered the formulas used in each of your spreadsheets in order to calculate the results.

Please take a minute to review and proof your tab as well as the master list of team results tab on the attached. I was a Journalism + Poli Sci major at Ole Miss (read: no math), so it bears to check + identify any problems now instead of later.

With that caveat, the following is the rank order for Week #1:

25.53%    WCC + PAC 10
17.12%    Crazy Canuks
16.63%    SEC
11.82%    Big 10
11.26%    ACC
9.13%      Big 12

... and, damn, if those West Coasters are not strong out of the gate!

Thanks!

Umm, Brian, you left off my whole team.

Go Big East!

We show up in the spreadsheet, just not in your summary post. I missed an hour on one of our members for the first week too but wouldn't affect our place in the standings. It gives us 13.92 rather than 13.48%.

The one I shorted was Celeb_ithil. I didn't look at both stationary bike and regular bike time so I missed 60 minutes. Thanks for fixing this.

That's what I get for trying to do this while on a conference call.  Sorry Lynnette and my Big East brethern, while the Big East was included in the spreadsheet it was not included in the rank order.

Here is the new rank order and a copy of the revised spreadsheet to reflect a corrected time total for Celeb_ithil.

Looks like we picked up some ground this week! Maybe because I finally got my sick azz out on the bike and put in the miles.

We have a new rank order*!  Check out the ACC reining on the 3 point line and racking up the points ... thanks to Jenn (Jenneunc):

 ACC 71.29%
 WCC + PAC 10 48.61%
 Crazy Canuks 37.48%
 SEC 36.36
 Big 10 35.97
 Big East 34.35
 Big 12 32.84

A quick bracketology analysis shows that the ACC is vulnerable; their strength is that they are at 100% participation ... but their weakness is that their volume is limited by their number of participants.

I say that to tell everyone that this is far from over.  Now get out there and RIDE LOTS.

*usual disclaimer applies ... please check and then double check results as I have fat fingers, stayed up late and have only had 2 cups of coffee and (insert reason here: _______).

For the ACC, I think you took Wk2 / (Wk1 + Wk2) for their % instead of (Wk1 + Wk2) / Goal.

I'd yell sandbaggers if any group was 70%+ of their goal after 2 weeks :)

PS. I didn't double check them all ;)
