Subject: RE: No Sweat Aquathon - Long CourseLooking like it could be interested, especially if some of the rain sticks around. If you didn't see the email yet, the RD sent out the wave start times. Starting waves are as follows (but are subject to change): 8:00 Female 750 Swim & 750/5k 8:05 Male 750 & 750/5k 8:20 Female 1500 swim & 1500/10k 8:25 Male 1500 swim & 1500/10k WEATHER: Forecast is 30% chance of showers, high of 74 and low of 50. We will be there, rain or shine. I haven't figured out what to wear yet (other than the wetsuit -- Promotion sleeveless w/ green accents). I'm debating between my Javelin shorts or just normal swim jammers, since there's no biking. Also, tri top or not? Hmmm... decisions, decisions. Ok, real question -- if it is raining, is there any advantage to wearing socks on the run? (Other than the rule 'Nothing new on race day.') I always thought the value of socks was that they helped pull the moisture away from the foot to prevent blisters. If it's raining, isn't this a moot point? Anyone picked a spot to meet yet? |
