My dog is shedding everywhere - Help?

FURMINATOR Buy it. It'll change your life. We take our lab outside 2x a week with it and that's ~4lbs of hair that's outside and not inside in my vaccuum. Definitely worth it.

x3! We have two large, shedding dogs at our house and the furminator makes such a difference.  Just be warned - you will be shocked at the amount of hair that it will take off your dog (and wonder how s/he is not bald).

It sounds like you own my (2 years deceased) dog.  He was a beautiful dog--shepherd/lab mix, but left tumbleweed in the house.  I would pull out the tufts whenever I saw them ready to explode off of him.  He eventually got used to it.

But, yes.  Definitely get a furminator.  (and check on ebay.  They're much cheaper there than in the stores.)

We have a Furminator, but I don't get that much fur at one time in the summer.  In the fall and especially the spring, when Jazz is blowing a lot of coat at once, it helps A LOT.  This summer he just seems to shed constantly whether I Furminate or not.

With four cats and two dogs (one german shepherd mix and one akita cross...think pouftery fluffy dogs who blow coats) in the house, our furminator really doesn't stand a chance, either.

I pretty much just deal with cat hair in the quinoa (to quote someone in another thread).

Oh my, I'd never keep up with that much fur! Another problem we have is my vacuum stinks at picking up pet hair so when I sit on the carpet to do my PT exercises I see the hair everywhere.

furminator is great for my lab mix, retriever mix, and cat. we got a dyson vacuum about 5 months ago and using it once or twice a week keeps all of the hair up completely as well as lots of dirt. I would highly recommend one. I was doubtful of them at first but...it has been wonderful so far!

If you are strapped for the time/effort you can also take them to a place like Petsmart to get groomed...I swear their shed-less shampoo or potentially their patience when furminating REALLY helps.
