I'm interested to hear the reason.  Heard on the radio someone tweeted that the police had come to pick him up.

That is sad. While I'm glad I don't have to hear "the honey badger" for another year of football, it is sad that he probably threw his career away (leaving room for explanation if we get one on the evidence). While he was a small guy, I'm sure some NFL team would have taken a flyer on him and he could have made some serious money. Now, he dropped out of school and who knows about his future... Arena/CFL?

Reading the live chat on 2theadvocate right now after hanging out in TigerDroppings this morning.

Once again, it's the pot :/

If he's lucky he might be able to move to a 1AA team for this season and then back to 1AA next year to maintain some kind of NFL draft luck.

But then, he was with one of the nations best football teams and didn't have the sense to quit smoking the crap before the season started.  I mean, how OBVIOUS is it that there's GOING TO BE a drug test in the pre-season.

Maybe he can convince his old HS coach at Tulane to take him in???

He could go the Jenkins route and go 1AA then declare for the draft. It worked out okay for him so far, he got picked early 2nd round.

There's always hope.  First, this young man needs to learn to walk the straight line.
It's really sad, b/c many (including myself) believe he has some true talent despite his size.

I don't think there's any doubt about talent, IMO.  He's got it, but yes, his size may put him at too much of a deficit to overcome, but regardless, the kid has some crazy talent.

Sometimes it takes people a while to figure out that your life is so much easier if you just play by the rules.  No one really cares if you agree with the rules, just play by them for crying out loud.  Maybe this will be the wakeup call.

I'd probably over look the drug charge if I were an nfl coach.

Fortunate for Tyrann, there are no legal charges.  Just failed tests.
Miles was reported saying the same thing as a wake-up call.
As someone else pointed out, sounds like Perilloux all over again.  *sigh*

He'd at the very least made an NFL team as a special teamer. With his closing speed and tacking ability, he'd have been worth a mid-round draft pick for this alone.

I'm doubting the supplimental draft. Basically, that team would forfiet the same pick in the spring draft. They go in draft order and allow teams to draft, but they all pass as not much talent is there.

With Al Davis gone, he doesn't stand a chance...

As far as his NFL prospects, forget about the Wonderlic, the young man just failed the most important intelligence test he'll ever take. If it's drug related, I can't see an NFL coach "overlooking" it as someone said, they make you sit for failing drug tests in the NFL as well.

Again, that is the same thing Jenkins got busted for I believe 3 times. If he can go to a 1AA team and clean his act up he still ahs a chance.

Whatever avenue he takes, he'll end up in the bigs. That said, without someone that sees what has not been seen before, he won't go first two rounds because, simply: 1) he's too small to play corner (I think), 2) he fits much better as a kick returner, and they don't draft high.

Now....could he end up being Wes Welker?  That's his only out to get picked earlier.  To get there, he needs to go 1AA, play corner AND the Wes Welker role, and come out blazing. He's got the skill. Just a question of whether he will.

I agree.  This is not like gymnastics or diving where you have 6 judges and they average the scores, or they throw out the highest and lowest scores.  There are 32 teams.  You don't need to convince all 32 teams that you're worth a gamble, you just need to convince one of them.  Buffalo gambled on Willis McGahee in the first round after destroying his knee 4 months before the draft...he didn't even play his first year as he was still recovering.  And then we have Denver taking Tim Tebow in the first round.

It can't be drunk driving or fighting or breaking gun laws or sex abuse or gambling or smacking woemn around, all those things are OK as long as you can play ball and sell seats.

I'm sure off field trouble won't hamper him.  It didn't keep Art Schlichter, Maurice Clarett, or Lawrence Philips from having long, successful NFL careers.......

I'm an Alabama fan but this sucks! Damn, I wanted to see AL/LSU with full vengeance on and marquis players healthy.

Ah well, guy made his bed, I hope he can clean up his act in time to find a way to go pro.

LSU's still got a hell of a team.

He's enrolled at McNeese St. University which is a 1AA (perinneal playoff team) in the Southland Conference.  It's located in Lake Charles, LA.  Which is roughly two hours west of Baton Rouge.

If anyone remembers Cecil Collins he did the same thing though poor Cecil couldn't hang on there either.

And in other somber news, it's been reported that the forlorn, solitary figure of Brent Musberger is crumpled in a lonely, dark corner, dabbing tears from his eyes.

Not an option.  He was permanently dismissed from the team.
According to Nola.com he will make a definite decision on Wed on whether to head to McNeese or not.

I suppose being more than an hour away from his current crowd of friends may help as well, should he go to McNeese.

What I read said anyone dismissed fromt he team for drugs was out for a year, then with special approval from certainadmins, he possibly could play again...  but I can see that story has since changed when it was reported earlier.
