The only think I love about my job is when I leave for the day and know that I wont be going to prison for stabbing someone in the face.

There is always tommorow though.

I am right with the OP here actually. I love my Job. It has it's challenges and tough days but when all the chips are played, the good far outweighs any bad and I am happy to come to work each day.

Love my job, too.  As a forester I get to spend about 50% of my time hiking outdoors.

(Yes, Oklahoma has trees )

I'm jealous of people who enjoy what they do. I mean, the majority of my week is spent doing something that I can't stand, it really brings me down. I'd like to know what those of you who love your job actually do. I consider it a successful week when I go home on Friday and my computer is still intact.

And my job makes my freaking back hurt and I can't run! :-(

I'm a scientist. Specifically a computational biologist. Mostly I study genetics of HIV and modeling of proteins and drugs for certain types of cancers.

I wanted to be a scientist since 6th grade, cannot imagine doing anything else. Every day is an opportunity to discover something new.

I'm a freelance software developer and have the most incredible work right now that allows me to work from home.  I've never been happier and it doesn't even feel like work since I enjoy it so much.  Sure I could make more money working a fulltime gig but having the opportunity to go S/B/R whenever I want is well worth any extra money I could make.  I can also work anywhere as long as I have my laptop with me so that allows me to travel to destination races and not worry about having enough vacation.  I am very lucky and do not take it forgranted.  I only hope it continues because I truly am the happiest I've ever been with work.

This was when I loved my job:

...but it was a 4 month contract 4 years ago and there are STILL no openings in the office (because the job was great!)

I used to be a patient care coordinator in an oncology clinics intake office. about 6 months ago I was promoted to be a supervisor in the same department. I loved the old job and while the new one is in many ways very different, I also love it. Every little thing I do, when I do it well, I know it is helping a person or family suffering with cancer, whether a new diagnosis or old, get closer to the world class care my work and doctors offer. There is no experience like hearing from a patient you first schedule 4 years ago, who calls you just to say thanks once or twice a year.

I too, love doing what I do. I get to the "office" and look out windows all day long and keep the things flying in the air from crashing into each other. I'm an air traffic controller and I've been doing the job a little over 10 years civilian and 4+ years via the military. So, in the 14 years I"ve been doing this no two days have EVER been the same. )))

and yes I need to S/B/R to decompress and relax.

I'm an overgrown five year old playing as a children's librarian.  I read books like "Monsters Eat Whiny Children" in story time...I'm telling you it's the best job ever! I do travel 27 miles each way to work, but that's a small price to pay for the opportunity to watch a kid who walked in grumpy and emphatically stating that they hate reading wave their book in the air and say, "This is going to be AWESOME" as they walk out

Yes, it's a real book, as is "I'd Really Like to Eat a Child", "Fartiste", and "Flush! The Scoop on Poop Through the Ages".

Nice summation of my feelings.

Commercial loan portfolio manager for a regional bank. Not the most glamorous career out there, but I do enjoy it.
