Forget water-boarding, sleep deprevation, electric shock, etc.  The CIA needs to realize that a root canal gone bad trumps them all!  This is a whole knew world of constant pain!  No amount of Oxycodone is giving relief.  Just one breath of air of a different temperature and my buzz comes crashing down like a judge's gavel on Lindsay Lohan.  My whole head feels like it's in a vice.

Broken bones...  a baseball bat to the face...  rocket shrapnel through my lower back...  radiation treatments to the throat...  CHILD'S PLAY compared to this!  If you dangled an instant cure for the pain in front of me right now, I would cave in a heartbeat.  I'll talk!  I'll talk!  Sell out my country...  Pacts with the devil... anything at this point.  Wow did evolution play a number on us with regards to tooth nerves!

I see the Endodontist in an hour (dentist couldn't help me on Tues).  If he can't fix this, I'm going to have him just yank the tooth.  Anything to make the pain stop.

Rant mode OFF.  Sorry.  Back to CoJ stuff.

I'm sorry Buddy. I hope you get some relief.

Once I broke my foot, and after it was all said and done I got some pain meds. went out for a walk on crutches, and decided I did not need them anymore. In the morning, when I woke up, if I had an ax, I would have chopped it off. Never did that again. Please take my little story of being a dumb a$$ and forget your pain for 10 seconds. That's all I got... and best wishes.

dude, hope that goes well.  Nothing worse than a tooth ache.

If it makes you feel any better sometimes I see kids who have a mouth full of black teeth.  Of all the things that parents end up doing to their kids poor health and especially dental care is the worse.  What gets me though is that these kids don't complain, like it has to kill, which of course is the saddest part.  They end up having to go to surgery for 2+ hours to deal with them all.  Anyways.

After reconstructive knee surgery, I was taking oxycodone and not feeling a thing.  While waiting for my endodontist appointment, I was taking oxycodone and furiously debating whether or not I should just go get the pliers.

Hang in there.  The relief after a root canal is rather strangely one of the best feelings.

Hope they are able to do something for you.  Happened to me - they were able to completely remove the root of the tooth (and part of a nerve I think) but leave the tooth intact.  I was absolutely miserable until the surgery.

Sorry to hear that Doug. Dam, sounds horrible. P.S. I liked the Lindsay Lohan reference.

Home.  Not 1, but 2 teeth.  Double root canal.  Need drugs...

And THIS is my dentist...

I had a root canal on one of my front teeth(!)  It felt like they were drilling up into my eyeball.  And "numb" = never quite all of it.  In hindsight, I probably should've just pulled my own tooth out with some pliers in the garage.  It would've been more pleasant.

My brother's dentist pretty much suggesting going with an implant and skipping the root canal thing.  They are getting pretty good these days and the root canals may just go away.

The jury is still out on that for me.  But stories like this makes me think my brother got good advice?
