Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 I'm pretty psyched for this season. A few friends that I talk about it with on Monday mornings didn't like the Gov. and the direction the show took with him, so they're not really into the new season, but I think it will be good. I do agree with some of their arguements though, there were a few episodes where you saw maybe 1/2 a dozen zombies get taken down and that was all. I like how the show was based on the constant fear of walkers at any time, I think they lost some of that with the prison and needed to put in a new "fear" for everyone. Regardless, still psyched. |

I agree. I think they should take it on the road again, the being in one place thing is no fun. It looks like the next season is all about finding a saboteur. Should be fun regardless. |

504 | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 BUMP I think in this season Merle will finally be a good guy but get killed, Andrea will get bit by Milton and turn, and the Gov will assault the prison but be repelled... OH WAIT That already happened. Watching parts of TWD marathon on AMC. My wife isn't a fan so I have to wait until she is asleep. I forgot how good Season 1 is. |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 Interesting first episode. In Talking Dead they said about 6-7 months passed since the end of Season 3. They obviously have a pretty good setup there but all the previews from the season make it seem like that ends rather quickly. You have to lull the audience in with a sense of comfort before you can yank it away and scare everyone. I rewatched seasons 2 and 3 while on the trainer this summer and then casually watched the marathon over the last week when I was around. After rewatching it all, I want them to run again but with some larger master plan in terms of where they are going. They stumbled on the prison and now they'd have half a year of what seems like relatively peace to figure out what's next, although from the signs of it they seemed like the prison was "it" in terms of final location. All in all I liked the episode and am excited for the new season again. |

Champion 34263 Chicago | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 Yeah seems they are all `Oh everything is peachy keen and all is well here in the prison with our daily duties of stabbing dead dudes in the eye, oh but wait, something bad is about to go down, and y'all are hosed!' So I thought the first episode of the season sets up nicely for what's about to come. |

Champion 10550 Austin, Texas | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 I was pretty disappointed in how the whole season was set-up. They've had a peachy-keen life at the prison for what, 8 months? They've got happy food-producing gardens, they've got hunting groups, they've got story time for the kiddos complete with knife lessons... WHY THE HELL HAVEN'T THEY DONE ANYTHING TO RE-ENFORCE THE FENCING AROUND THE PRISON?? I would have thought that might have been some sort of priority to keep out the dead people wanting to snack on them. Just a thought.

Master 1730 Straight outta Compton | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 I thought the whole episode was kind of a snore... other than the scene in Big Lots where the ceiling caves in this was not that great. I'll DVR it in the future but it's definitely not appointment watching. |

Extreme Veteran 590 Northern Virginia | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 OK, be gentle with me ... I just started watching Walking Dead as a "thing to do with my daughter". I saw season 1, episodes 1 and 2 just before diving into season 4. What's the best way on getting up to speed on the "characters", background info, etc. from the prior episodes? (Don't know if there's enough action to watch them in the pain cave for Jorge's bike workouts) BTW, as penance for my failure to faithfully watch the first 3 seasons, I humbly offer this "honest trailer" which made my daughter laugh (especially regarding Shane) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNxvo8AcpQQ |

Last nights episode was good enough. More ground work laid while also keeping it interesting. My vote is Carl killed and burned the bodies. The CGI added blood splatterings at the fence are getting really noticeable. Talking Dead was better than the TWD, and that's with me falling asleep through half of it. I liked when Doug Benson told Greg Nicotero he didn't know what he was talking about. |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 Very dark episode, at least compared to the opener where they set it up that everyone was in good spirits that it had been a month since they lost someone and they had a nice little thing going. I like Carl getting his gun back. He's in for something big this year I think. Also, unless it's Glenn and Maggie, if someone is acting all romantic with another person at the start of the episode it's almost a gaurantee that one of those people is going to die soon. |

Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 I like the way the second episode turned out. Season 3 with the governor and the whole "people vs. people" was a nice change of pace, but I much prefer it to be people vs. walkers, or now people vs. disease/flu. I think it creates a bit of a helplessness in that you cannot control your own fate. As for the burning bodies, interesting twist. I don't think Carl is big enough yet to drag out two adult bodies and burn them...but it at least shows some conflict within the prison group. As for the fence, you would have thought that they would have started to build some of those wooden spear tipped barricades around the fence. That would prevent the walkers from being able to push against the fence, unless they stab themselves first. |

Also, I just watched an Ellen video on youtube of 2 members of her staff going through the Walking Dead haunted house. You should watch it, really funny. Would love to be able to go to it!

Elite 4564 Boise | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 Okay, I don't have cable, just netflix and I just finished the last season. I want to jump in here and say, why is everybody so dumb in this show? I feel like most of these people should be dead already from their own stupidity. That seems to be the overarching theme I get when I'm watching it. I also don't like how they just don't care about walkers anymore. They just casually walk around stabbing them when they are near. That defeats half the purpose of the show. |

504 | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 The season is getting better. Is it me or is the time between commercial breaks getting shorter. It's like 5 minutes of show and another commercial again. The Talking Dead: Re: Marylin Manson. He ruined that episode. Previously, I liked his comments on "Bowling for Columbine" and when I saw him in concert years ago (I was forced to go) I was actually very scared. BUT he seemed like he was just regurgitating lines that someone else told him. I'm not sure he is an actual fan of the show. He should've been yanked off the stage with one of those ol' timey hooks. |

Regular 129 | Subject: RE: Walking Dead Season 4 a few observations, I think that Rick is the only one that is showing the nature of going crazy, I would think that pretty much everyone at this point would have just lost their s$*t. The opposite end of this is the daughter that takes care of Judith, her lack of emotion is great. I still don't think Hershel really comprehends what the hell is going on (when he and Carl go out for the berries and they do not eliminate the walker and the other one leaning on the tree. Not a threat, but still just eliminate them. At this point why do they all not have and carry some sort of sword or machete? It is fine and dandy that they somehow hove an unlimited amount of ammunition, but a bladed weapon would be so much better in close quarters combat. Bullets don't zip thru the walkers? Ok, so they are in a prison. No one thought , hey how about we figure out a way to lock ourselves IN the cells so we can sleep with some security at night? Their survival skills are somehow getting worse, I would think they would improve. At what point does someone show up and call them zombies?!?!?!? I still really enjoy the show. |
