Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official ThreadI stayed in the Hyatt last year too. Elevators were no issue (I've heard the Galt House can be a nightmare ). The Hyatt was great post-race - I went to shower while my wife went to get my bike and gear bags from transition! Then it was a 30 yard walk to the bar to sit outside by the finish line until late into the evening. I agree that there was much more walking from the Hyatt otherwise - athlete registration, swim practice, gear check-in, race day gear check and walk to swim line. If you don't have someone willing to get your bike and gear bags post-race, I don't think I'd stay at the Hyatt.
I'm doing Chattanooga this year and hotel reservations have been a challenge. Finish line and transition are very close to one another for Chatt (as opposed to Lville ). Unfortunately the only hotel I could get is about one mile from finish line and transition in Chattanooga. |
