Subject: Weekly Power not working

When I am using the training log reports and I choose "Weekly" and "Score/Factor", it is only showing the daily value for the first day of each week rather than a weekly total.

Thanks!  Tough to track weekly TSS otherwise.

When I log in under your account and run a weekly report, it appears correct. It appears you only had a single reportable entry for the weeks of 9/19 and 9/26 So the reports align. But they diverge quickly if you expand.

So I ran a weekly report from April until now:

Take a look at the week of 4/4 - it shows a total weekly score of 69.  However, I did two rides that week as seen below...

It doesn't seem to be counting the second ride and adding the 96 TSS to the score - it's only grabbing the first ride of the week (and doing so incorrectly as well).

Did we ever get a resolution to this?

If ever become un-injured again LOL, I'd like to track weekly TSS without having to do it on Training Peaks.

Sorry Mike - I looked around briefly for the original conversation I was having with the programmer, but to speed things up, I opened a new conversation with him to get this resolved for you. Thanks for your patience.

Mike,

Here's what the programmer had to say, after looking at your log again in detail:

"Look at the data:

Dec 9th Score 38 Factor .71

Dec 8th Score 27 Factor .68

Dec 5th Score 19 Factor .61

Week avg Dec 4th (Correct) Avg Score 28 (38+27+19)/3 Avg Factor .66 (.71+.68+.61)/3

I went back to the week of 4/3 - 4/9

There were 3 powers logged. 65+96+48/3 = 69 And it is reported correctly as weekly average of 69

Note: Even accounting that he's set his weeks to start on monday, there are the three entries from 4/4 - 4/10 2016 and the average looks correct.

Am I misunderstanding something?"

He attached images of all the graphs, too, which I didn't include here. Do you think maybe you missed one of the entries when manually doing the math, or forgot that you have your week set to start on a Monday?

The problem is that in takes the average, not the total.  The average is useless.  I could do one ride @ 90 TSS or six rides for a total of 540 TSS and it would report the same.  The average IF is a little more valuable in that it tracks how hard you worked on average that week, but for tracking training load it doesn't help much either.

I'm sorry - I misunderstood your initial question.
You were not saying that the data calculation was incorrect. You were asking for an enhancement to the tool we currently provide. You're asking to add a field that totals the power data.

Sorry - The subject line implied that something was broken. Actually this is a feature that was not part of the offering. I can find out now if it would be easy to add.

Can you check it now?
We created a new calculation/field and renamed things, so you should now see weekly total and weekly average.

Thanks for your feedback on this. Although I've been training and racing for more than a decade, I've never had a power meter, so it was difficult to grasp the difference in usefulness of the information, but I get it now.

Just checked the new calculation - the weekly TSS (or score as you all call it) looks good, though now it just totals up the factor which isn't correct.  Adding up the factors (IFs) isn't a valid statistic.  An average might be as it would show how dense your training stress was during the week, but for most people it wouldn't matter.

The total TSS or score is what I needed, and it looks good there.  Thanks!
