Good morning BT!

4:30am:  :50 minutes on the bike, big gear work

5:30am:  :30 minutes lower body 5X5

Heading into SLC for an eye exam today.  Taking my senior daughter with me.  She broke up with her boyfriend of 1.5 years this week (yes, hubby and I are doing the happy dance...we knew this day would come eventually!) She handled the whole thing so maturely, but the sting is still fresh.  I told her I was kidnapping her today and taking her with me for some fun shopping as well.

Karen...yes, that's why my coach is so perplexed.  Usually the run heart rate is about 10 beats higher than on bike and mine was the same--on both bike and run the highest I could push my heart rate was to 164 (resting heart rate is 52-55).

Have a great day!

Trips to Utah do make for the best therapy.

I have another excuse to go back. I signed up for the Tushars marathon by Ultra Adventures in July. I get too much oxygen at my every day altitude anyway

Have a great day of training everyone

Definitely better they broke up before going on to college. Then again, both of my brothers married their high school sweethearts, so you never know. I'd be pretty stoked if it was my kid; regardless, I hope she's doing okay.

11:45 - 2000 yard swim, lots of kick work, and some hard 50 intervals.

Wife is out of town again, so just me and the kiddos until Friday. Fun times. Have a great day!

Weather conditions could have been playing a role, or maybe you were just able to push yourself harder on the bike. I think the HR are sometimes closer for more experience cyclists. Maybe it would be better to get the test data in a race situation (like the final 20 minutes of a 5K race). I've done that sometimes as it's easier for me to push to max effort then.

Went to bed early yesterday again!

AM: 51 minute run with some fartlek pickups
PM: (after coaching for an hour--I had to do long jump) 2450 meters of swimming. Pool closed early (long story) so I had to get the whole workout (minus 150m of cooldown) in in 45 minutes. That was interesting. Plus water was close to 90 degrees. Ugh.
