Good morning BT!

6:00am:  :30 minute recovery run

6:30am:  :45 mintues 5X5 strength + core

Heading to SLC with the fam bam today.  We're going to the Olympic Ice Oval for some ice skating...can't wait!  After that, Rogue One, and after that checking out the lights at Temple Square.  Fun day ahead!

Karen your run yesterday sounded wonderful...just a little jealous!

Have a great day...hope all your returns go smoothly!  Ha!

Got off my lazy butt and went out for  a 7 mile run after my first two day break from training in a long time.  Gained at least 2 pounds in the last four days -- not good.  Hoping to squeeze in a short ride later if I can find the time.

6:50 - 70' on the trainer, cadence focus. I have jury duty this week, so if I get picked, this may be my last workout until Saturday. Have a great day out there.

The usual 3.5 mile run on the same loop at the same pace. I really need to break out of this runners rut I have got stuck in.

It was a beautiful day, but I was kind of sore from biking two days in a row. Plus trying to do fartlek pickups with all those clothes on--felt like the Abominable Snowman!

3200m of swimming here, followed by 40 minutes of strength stuff. Still hard to get used to swimming in the outdoor pool--it is open YEAR ROUND, even when temps fall into the teens (mid 30's today). And I mean degrees F, not C! Unless you hit a really slow day, the indoor facility is reserved for elderly, disabled, and water walkers/joggers.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
