Good morning BT!  Another year come and almost gone!

5:30am:  1:35:00 on the trainer with intervals.  Today was the first day that I muttered 'my coach is Satan' !  Oooof that was hard work but I loved it...once I was done!

Heading to the school all day today to get ready for back to school on Tuesday.  I'm not one for crowds so I think hubby and I will probably watch a movie tonight and try to stay up for midnight...fat chance!  Lol!

Have a great day and if you are going out...stay safe and have a blast!

6:15 - 30' run at moderate effort. Wore my old garmin with HR strap to compare to the optical HR on the 735. The optical HR was significantly higher (avg was 7bpm higher, and max was 11bpm higher). Will probably not rely on optical HR . . .

6:45 - core work

Be safe and have a great day/holiday.

Schoooool on new years eve?? I hope you'll at least play some loud music in there!

I had an awesome 5 mile run with my favorite group. They always keep me at a good pace, we were sub 9 min/mile for the 5 miles today.

Tomorrow's going to be fun, a 10 mile round trip run with the same group to a local "mountain".

OOooh, Kim, you'll have to share that workout with me - LOVE me some nasty intervals :-)!

4.5 mile run with the dog, then went to watch the Fiesta Bowl Parade in downtown Phoenix.
Now back at home prepping food to take over to a friends house where we are ringing in the New Year. Kid friendly and we may celebrate New York New Years and be home by 11 - lol!

Be safe everyone and Happy New Year!!

Finished the year with my Masters' team New Years Day 10K Swim.  A bathroom break kept me from the 10K.  Got in 9400 yards.    Good way to end the year.

Cheers!

We have another week of break--thank goodness! I'm here till Thursday.

8 AM: 3800 yards of various sets at Master's swim practice (indoor pool in our sister city today)
PM: Hilly, foggy, and peaceful 61 minute fartlek run in very hilly neighborhood

Lots of running errands in between. We are supposed to get snow and very cold weather starting tonight, plus library, etc. will be closed till Tuesday, so trying to get it all done! After running made our traditional New Year's Eve dinner (kung pao chicken and pot-stickers).

After all that, not sure I will make it past 9 PM. Hoping I can watch the Times Square festivities live and then go to bed!

Happy New Year everyone!

For most people, there is a story in how they came to the sport as beginners. Some of the most inspiring of those beginner tales begin with health scares.

I ponder my training. Should I have trained differently? Should I have trained more? Should I have trained harder? Should I not be wearing a sail?
