Subject: Any benefits to stairs?
That is, for us "seasoned" athletes... or would it be better to use the elevator throughout the afternoon to rest after, say, a morning 10 mile run?

Unless you are talking about dozens of flights of stairs, it likely doesn't matter one way or the other.

Dunno, but I do almost all of my running and biking early AM before work, and my job/life has me on my feet for most of the rest of the day. Unless I have to take the stairs (i.e. taking my class somewhere), I'm taking the elevator! My classroom is 76 steps up (on the fourth floor), and there's no AC in the halls or stairs. Just no desire to add any more trips up/down to the daily routine. Might be useful as additional activity for some, though, if basic fitness or weight loss was a goal.

That being said, I do "run" stairs as part of workouts to build strength in the off-season sometimes. That's mainly because there are no hills here in Saigon.

"Strength/butt" training. I recon that's what I had in mind. In any event, despite year-round volume-building, my activity tracker makes me feel fat.
