Subject: RE: Monday Motivation 6-10-19 I ended up getting pretty much everything replaced on my old bike over time, due to sweat corrosion from training in Vietnam. (Where it would be in the mid 70's even with AC going full blast, because it was so hot outside, and up to triple digits when I did occasionally take it out. Plus no dehumidifier on the AC. ) Did end up with a loose shifter cable at IM Malaysia (giving me some non-functional gears ) but that was probably just collateral damage from shipping the bike, or maybe getting tangled with someone else's bike during a windstorm the night before.
Anyway, 45 minute run and 1800 yard swim here. The run was nice as I have given up on the Hokas (Clifton 5--long story. Got them last summer on sale and keep trying to break them in for running, but my body just hates them. Great walking shoes, though ) and gone back to Saucony Kinvara, my old standby. Not for everyone but they just seem to work with my feet and stride. Swim was awful as heater was broken and water was really cold. In my current state with 1 1/2 functioning arms, I just can't work hard enough on the swim to stay warm! |
