Expert 821 Golden, CO | Subject: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant Seriously, I believe that the Gillette Mach 3 razors are the equivalent of crack. I started using them about ten years ago and have not been able to switch to any other brands. If I do have to use something else I usually have to use a whole ream of toilet paper to stop the bleeding. Further, they have now come out with 4 and 5 blade versions..I'm not going to even try those because I am afraid of getting addicted to them. I think paying the $8 for 4 blades is crime enough. And apparently Gillette trys to get the youngsters addicted at an early age..they send the razor and 2 blades free to guys on their 18th birthday....will they stop at nothing. All this came to me as I was in the shower this morning trying to shave with a disposable...luckily my wife found me before I had lost too much blood and could be carted to the emergency room for a couple of pints of blood. I suppose I better stop on the way home from work and pick up some new blades..they are cheaper than the emergency room...but not much. |

Supersonicus Idioticus 2439 Thunder Bay, ON | Subject: RE: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant no blood and keep cash = buy a BIC 3-bladed razor. I buy those in bulk when they are on sale. I use the gillette 2blade when doing the legs, because when you slip once, it cuts you twice, not three times. |

Master 1827 Tampa, Fl | Subject: RE: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant I was in the same boat until I went electric 2 years ago. I noticed blades dissapearing from my stash and showing up in the shower. I still go back to the Mach3 every once and a while to get my fix. |

Master 2571 Tiger's Den | Subject: RE: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant I've found these razor blades cheap at the local flea market. Like $4 for a pack of 4.... BTW, the venus and the mach 3 razor blades are interchangeable on the handle. Buy whichever is on sale or cheaper and use that one..... |

Electric on the face and head. Haven't cut myself there in 20+ years. Unfortunately I cannot use an Electric..it just does not do the job..It must be my Irish blood. I usually have 5 o'clock shadow by 2:15. I also need the blades for my head which of course makes me go through even more of the darn thing. As for feeling pretty...my paralegals had a meeting last week and I am no longer allowed to sing.."I'm feeling pretty" around the office....it was freaking them out for some reason... |

The five blade gillette Fusion makes the Mach 3 feel like you are shaving with a dull pocket knife. It's worth the budget adjustment. |

Champion 6285 Beautiful Sonoma County | Subject: RE: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant When I go into the Walgreens across the street from my office in downtown San Francisco, all the razors have little theft-prevention stickers, and also a sticker that says, "This item intended for sale at Walgreens. If found at other outlets, call..." I didn't know there was such a problem with stolen razors, but perhaps. I do think the price is rediculously high. I'm a longtime Venus user, which is the woman's version of the GM3, and I see the new Venus razors and think, "No way. My old Venus does the job nicely." |

Champion 8936 | Subject: RE: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant See, I don't like the Fusion on my face. It tends to pull on hairs more than my Mach3. Extreme Veteran 394 Columbia, MO | Subject: RE: Gillette Razors = Crack...rant No Schick Tracer fans..... guess I am the only one.... I used the old single blade Bics for a few years in HS and part of College, Then I got a Schick Tracer FX. 2 blades and so comfortable. I have tried the 3 and even 4 blade ones, but I still keep coming back to the Schick. It will be a sad day when they stop selling blades for it..... they are already getting hard to find. Josh |
