Meat Loaf!

Great!  So it will still be on when I get home this afternoon.

The only meatloaf I can tolerate is sandwiched between two slices of bread, served cold with extra catsup.

Yes! As a child I was forced to had the priveledge of listening to my dad's 8 tracks with Meat Loaf being one of them. I like them.

Yeah, Meat Loaf is a person, born Marvin Leee Aday. He's OK if you like bad Broadway-style singing being passed off as pseudo-rock.

Nothing wrong with that song! I think that any song about screwing in a car can't be bad. I thought it was great!

Great song.  If I could only last as long as the song I'd make a special someone very happy

Yeah, but did you have to wedge a book of matches in the player to get the 8 track to play? 

Maybe that was the point of the song?

OK, Paradise by the Dashboard Light Trivia. Without Googling, name:

• Two members of Springsteen's E Street Band who played on the recording.
• The female singer on the recording.
• The baseball announcer on the recording
• The producer of the recording and album
• The songwriter

And the guy never got to home plate, much less lasted as long as the song.

     I think the point of the song, or the story really, is if this guy is going to tell this girl he loves her before they have sex.  He doesn't want to commit, but she wants an answer. 

Not very good at music trivia but I do know that

• the woman on the recording was replaced for the tour
• the announcer was an announcer for the Yankees
  

That would be Phil Rizzuto or as we call him here, 'Scooter."  Famous for saying "Holy Cow" oh yeah,and for playing on some of the best Yankee World Series Teams with some of the greatest ball players of all time. 

Yeah, my parents weren't too happy when I was like 6 years old and had the whole baseball announcer part of the song memorized. I remember my dad telling me once that it was a bad a song and I shouldn't be singing it -- let alone reciting the baseball announcer part with such accuracy and animation. As the star player on my T-ball team, I couldn't understand why my parents wouldn't be encouraging me to sing a song about baseball.

Steinman also wrote Bonnie Tyler's Number 1, "Total Eclipse of the Heart." which also features one of the E Street bandmembers in the original quiz.
