The only meatloaf I can tolerate is sandwiched between two slices of bread, served cold with extra catsup.

You had me right up until the 'extra catsup' thing. I prefer regular mustard. yum

I prefer mine with mashed potatoes, stewed tomatoes, and peas.

I think Todd Rundgren was the producer. I believe he played keyboards during Meatloaf's appearance on SNL.

OK, Paradise by the Dashboard Light Trivia. Without Googling, name:

  • Two members of Springsteen's E Street Band who played on the recording.
  • The female singer on the recording.
  • The baseball announcer on the recording
  • The producer of the recording and album
  • The songwriter

And the guy never got to home plate, much less lasted as long as the song.

Not very good at music trivia but I do know that

  • the woman on the recording was replaced for the tour
  • the announcer was an announcer for the Yankees

That would be Phil Rizzuto or as we call him here, 'Scooter."  Famous for saying "Holy Cow" oh yeah, and for playing on some of the best Yankee World Series Teams with some of the greatest ball players of all time.

I though Harry Carey (Cubs Announcer) did the "Holy Cow"? At least, he treated Chicago area fans to his rendition of it.

Female singer: Karla Devito Karla Devito is wrong, though she replaced the recording's singer (Ellen Foley) on the tour.

Baseball Announcer: no idea Already established that it was Scooter Rizzuto

Songwriter: Jim Steinman Yes, as already established

Producer: the guy that raised Liv Tyler. Wink Wrong. Todd Rundgren (yaqui!) produced, a guy who actually has talent

Hah! Didn't know that. She was nine before she found out about her biological father and changed her name from Rundgren to Tyler.

Easily she's the best thing Steven Tyler ever made.

Sometime around 1988 I was at a function (not a wedding, but a formal dance type event) and there was a really bad DJ.   Nobody was dancing because he was playing all techno/club dance stuff that was a little too young for this gathering.  Got to know your audience, y'know?  Anyway, a couple of the people we were with wanted to hear this song so I went up to the DJ and asked, "Do you have Paradise by the Dashboard Lights?"  He said, "I've never heard of the Dashboard Lights.  What kind of music do they play?"  I just shook my head and walked away.

Okay, here I am at the Meatloaf concert last summer with one of my water aerobic's students....I'm not that tall, she's only like 4'11".  The concert was to benefit Katrina, but it was bizarre....the most redneck crowd ever and I think meatloaf was on medication....very sappy and weepy...but the music was great.
