Subject: Copy Protected DVD's...Okay, gang. I have a question. I am sure resourceful BTers can help me! I'm trying to make some copies of DVD's to take on a trip so that I don't scratch up my originals. But so far, most of the discs I've tried say, "Protected Disc" so I can't copy them. BASTARDS! Anywho...I once remember hearing that if you used a marker around the outer edge of the DVD (like a little bit on the readable side of the disc) it would block the copy protection so you could copy it? Sort of like you used to break off the plastic piece on copy-protected VHS movies. My question: Has anyone tested out this theory? Does it work? If it works, SPECIFICALLY how do you do it? Like how much marker do you need? How likely is this to permanently damage the disc? Does anyone have a better way? Etc. Please no flaming for copying protected DVD's...it's for my own use. It's the same as burning an extra copy of a CD to put in your car. |
