I swear I saw the shadow of Princes' oddly-curved johnson when he was playing guitar behind that sheet....

he had that purple guitar with a lower "branch", and when behind the sheet it appeared to be jutting below his guitar in a distinctly phallic way.......

The only reason the halftime show brought up the sheet was to generate a phallic shadow of Prince's guitar.  It added nothing to the show but that...and it is clear that is what they wanted to show...hence the numerous shots.

I am curious to see if the media rakes him over the coals since the public defined the super bowl as "family entertainment" a few years ago.  I am willing to bet it causes a stir...but they go easy because it is a male.

Will they blame it on a prop malfunction?  I have to admit I was very entertained.  Prince does put on an amazing show, and it's especially amazing his eyeliner and mascara didn't run in all that rain!

The only reason I was watching the halftime show was to see if he'd be electrocuted.  THAT would have been entertainment!

My dog Skip was electrocuted in a storm when I was five.  Thanks for your callous disregard for the families and loved ones of those electrocuted.

I was thinking Lucile Ball, I don't care though, I'd love him no matter how he dressed

I love Prince. He is one of the great rock song writers of all time and a great vocalist and guitarist.  That being said, he's a bit washed up.  Prince in his prime would not have played on the finale of American Idol or at the SB halftime show.  I feel a little bad for the guy that he sold out.

Did not see the halftime show as I was driving home.  Am guessing he did not perform, “I’m a Sexy Motherf….”, “Erotic City”, “Cream”.

EDIT:  Perhaps that song about NIKKI ???

You didn't miss much.  I like his music and don't have a problem with him, but I thought it was boring...except for waiting for the electrocution that didn't happen.

I may have missed a boring halftime show, just let us not forget...His name is Prince, and he is funky.  Or so he says.

He has to claim he is funky even though he knows full well he is no longer all that funky.  If he admitted he wasn't funky any more, he'd be even less funky, maybe even anti-funky.  Now he's at least low level funky with reference to previous major funkiness.

How funny! Those were my comments to my wife when he first started his performance. I noticed the overly phallic gestures as well from behind the curtain - the Wizard of Oz he certainly was not!

Actually, he's the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince. Or "Prince" to us regular folk. He got his name back a few years ago, i thought.

Prince was singing into a wireless microphone and playing a wireless guitar I think he was pretty safe from electrocution. Even at that, being wired with a low impedance connection doesnt pose a huge risk except for lightning. Very minimal voltage being generated, hence the need for massive amplification.

The lights around the stage on the other hand probably had potential for bad things.
