Although...if you put the 'now' where you put it, that would be no good (at least if you hadn't put the () in there). I know you know why. But tell me anyway--it's hot.

hmmm. Well, for one thing, it is not part of the verb, the verb includes the auxiliary"am" and the participle "...ing" so it couldn't be in CAPS as that CAPS were to indicate the verb.
