Subject: March Tri-sport Challenge - Main

OK, this is the main thread for the March Tri-sport challenge. The proposed teams are below.  I added one more day (April1st), couldn't pass on having fools day in the challenge! Seriously since the weeks end on Sunday, 1 more day on a weekend, at the end, can't hurt.

I need one captain still for the Blue team.  Just need to know/use excel and add your teams members results by Mondays so I can post the weekly NLT Tuesdays.  Spreadsheet is easy to use and takes about 5-15 minutes to update the results.  Enders_shadow, naners and myself are the other captains, I'll have the teams spreadsheets ready tomorrow and will get them to you. 

We'll accept new team members up to the ~7th (Wed).  Just post or PM me your goals in Time, Distance or both measures.

The Challenge "Rules":

  1. Must show your training in the logs publicly
  2. Monday through Sunday is the 'week'.  1st week is March 1-4th, then 5th-11th, 12th-18th, 19th-25th and 26th-April 1st.
  3. Plan for illnesses and or slight injury in your goals.  I would like to offer;
    • that a double sickness, injury or sickness+injury is ok to drop a team member
    • A prolonged illness (e.g. flu) or serious injury too
    • No drops in the last week of the challenge
    • Can change your Goals up to Wednesday 3/7
  4. No log input after 2 full weeks (a team member may be dropped as long as several attempts (PM) are made to contact them.
  5. Time (min/hr) and or Distance (miles/km) for goals.  You can mix them , e.g. Swim/Run = time and Bike = miles or vise versa.
  6. Metric distances will be converted to Miles/ yards on the spreadsheet
  7. Compiled weekly results will be posted ~ Tuesday afternoons.
  8. Train safe...
  9. Smack talk is encouraged...

This is my first time doing a challenge so I have 2 questions :

1) Do you pull the numbers from my logs or do I 'post' my totals for each week? If I post the message is there a weekly thread to do this?

2) What is the penalty if I don't meet my goals? (Thinking I was a bit ambitious in my goals)

Since I'm obviously on the winning team I want to make sure I follow the rules.

Sweet...five members of the Mentor-group, including the Mentor-Kahuna AND the RED team to boot...I hear red's a fast color (and can do the time/miles), so I guess our team's going to kick everybody's a$$!!!   Looking forward to working with everybody and doing my part for the effort.

Ah Grasshopper!

You simply log your daily training.  The team captain will have a link to your 'Actual Calender' log and will record your weekly totals.  This helps keep the threads cleaner!

If you don't make your goals; Women have to do a Brittney Spears hairdo and I'm still trying to figure out what guys should do, maybe shave all body hair

Yeah...that's the point!

OK, so I'm returning to the blue team for another month!  Let's go blue!  I haven't missed a challenge goal yet, so let's make this happen!!

Final numbers for me are exactly what the prelim numbers were:
S 12000yds
B 200mi
R 125mi

I'd like to get in on this. I had a solid Feb, but need to stay motivated. If a captain is needed, I could do it.

For now, I'll propose:
Swim: 25k yds
Bike: 350 mi
Run: 50 mi

This should be about right, but I haven't exactly planned anything for this year yet, so it could change.
