Total Time = 32m 3s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 19-39
Age Group Rank = 0/
Event warmup:

ate a banana and drank gatorade. talked to nora and brandon, pretended to stretch and cracked jokes about my nerves about whether or not my hip would hold up.
Run
  • 32m 3s
  • 2.8 miles
  • 11m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

i was worried about how hip would hold up since i haven't run in a month. but all was well. i took a few walk breaks which i always regret after i do, its only 3 miles for cricky sake! tried to stay with a lady in red but i felt she was going too slow in the beginning. WHEN WILL I LEARN??? i went too fast in the beginning, thus all the walk breaks (only 3)i should have stayed with her because she smoked past me and nora too for that matter!
What would you do differently?:

not walk
Post race
Warm down:

celebrated the fact that my hip didn't hurt and my time which i thought was REALLY good...until they announced AFTER the race that it was only 2.8 miles. then i complained and got mad! but i think i still would have been under the 35 minute mark but that will have to wait to officially be checked off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

fear

Event comments:

it was a first race for this group. they need work but "A" for effort! started late, course advertised as 3.1 but told us after the final runner crossed the lion that it was only 2.8. snacks and drinks after were good but prizes and activities were waited for until after the 5K walk (or was it 2.8). they didn't start walking until the run finished and we waited for run results. will try it again next year.

Glad you went for it! Congrats on being pain free AND finishing with a good time (even if it's not as great as you originally thought ;-) Who was the muppet that measured the course!?

like i said on the phone, i'm so proud of you! pain free runs are great - i do the same thing with walk breaks... but you gotta do whatcha gotta do.

screw the distance, you still did great and the 35 min goal is closer than ever - hope they get their act together for next year!
