IM feet gain

That is only for one loop of the LP course.  Be careful to look at the distances for the courses you find on the CT site.  Some are just portions of the courses.  Not fun to ride a full 112 mi on a computrainer ;-)

That number for WI does not match what I have.  I have the DeLorme TopoUSA software used to created Computrainer 3D courses, and I have the IMWI course constructed.  I come up with 6053 feet for IMWI (1245 for the Madison-Verona-Madison out/back section, plus 2 times 2404 feet for each loop).  Note, mine is the old course before they changed a small portion of it around Verona, but the change they made didn't involve any significant elevation changes.

I don't have the LP course constructed so I can't validate the number.  But, I do recall building the LP course a few years ago, and I seem to recall it came out to 7800 ft.

But, I've heard from folks who've ridden each of these courses with GPS and they always seem to come up with numbers smaller than DeLorme's software says.

FWIW, I Garmined MOO at 6761 feet o climbing on Sat having gone from Olin Park to Monona Terrace then hitting the course and ending at Olin Park, so not an exact measurement but you get the gist.

I don't think those are net gain, I believe that is the amount of climibing. Silverman's net gain is way less than that, not positive but at the lake it's about 1,100 ft and at the finish it's about 2,200 ft elevation, and yeah there are a few hills in between.

Net gain is zero for races that start and end in the same area.

Even if you're talking about the amount of climbing in each race, some of those numbers are off.  I was looking up the CDA info on climbing, and the consensus seems to be between 5-6000 feet of climbing for the entire 112 miles.  The info posted might only be for each loop.

I was just looking at what you had wrote. FYI Silverman does have a NET GAIN somewhere around 1,000 ft.  and increasing every week.

OK , fair enough.

WOOF!! My run today was 19.5 miles, 1900' of climbing with a NET ASCENT of 625'!! OUCH!!! It felt like it was all up or down with no flat!! Damn that was hard. The only good thing was that it ended at a lake and the cool down swim was tremendous!!

This after 113 miles on the bike in 5:19 yesterday!! I'm ready to taper!!! 27 days, 10 hrs and 27 minutes!!!!
