Subject: RE: saph's slightly laid back january yoga 'challenge'So far in December I've done over 17 hours of Yoga. For me currently doing Yoga isn't the issue but balancing it with my training. My IM training is still pretty modest as my body is just getting back to training 4 weeks ago and my coach has me building back in a conservative manner and I'm not working so I have plenty of free time. Monday's have been tough with swim, run, strength and Yoga... The other cool thing is 3 of my kids want to do it with me as does my husband. We have a bunch of new Yoga DVDs that we can do at home. I just went to a class with a new to me teacher Sy. After class I was talking and he got into Yoga as a triathlete to gain flexibility and he has offered to work with me to gear my Yoga practice and classes to help with my legs & their flexibility. Goals for January: 1. Balance Yoga and training better (training needs to come first) 2. Do Yoga flexibility after runs and if possible after bikes 3. Yoga 20 sessions in the month of January
What I hope for my Yoga besides gaining flexibility it to integrate some of the techniques that feel so good about with Yoga into my training..like breathing & relaxing, moment focused and the peace I get doing it. |
