Subject: kiss your spouse (or so) today
a friend of mine is now a widow. having friends who are divorced at my age was a shocker, but having a friend who has been widowed before even seeing 30, is heartbreaking. please think of her and her son in the next few days. her husband died doing something he loved, but it is tragic for all those left behind. the funeral is tomorrow so i'm spending my day cooking and freezing food for her and her some.

how terrible my condolences......my wife had a friend who lost her husband at a very young age......just be there for her and everyone should remember that if you have a spouse that it is a blessing that should not be taken for granted.......

My girlfriend lost her spouse in Iraq a few months ago. Your a good friend helping her through this difficult time. In the coming weeks/months you may suggest to her and her son about attending a grief support group, I know that has helped my friend through many dark hours. My condolances to your friend and her son.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, Autumn. The family will be in my thoughts. A friend of mine became a widower last year at age 30, and it is so sad and shocking.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. My prayers go out to the wife and son.

And also to you. It's such a hard thing to console and be what she needs. A good friend of mine lost her husband to a drunk driver when she was 29 or so. They were high school sweethearts and he was the only man she'd so much as kissed. I hardly knew what to do, but it turns out that someone to just be there and listen without saying much... or just to sit and cry with... was about right. *Hugs*

It is tragic indeed to lose a loved one at any time but to lose someone you hold dear at such an early age is doubly tragic.  My condolences for your loss.

As for my wife, I kiss her every day and as often as I can ... even if we are having a disagreement.

thanks for all your support. funeral was as could be expected. standing room only. lots of other divers and jumpers were there. another friend and i both brought our kids who are friends of max (their son). it was a good call on our part. max and ella and quinn played in the kids' area during most of the service. its still hard to believe.
