TriAya - 2010-07-21 12:48 PM My T.I.T.S. today--EXCITING!!!

Went out on the mountain bike to put in some time and errands--pickup here, dropoff there, etc. Due to the VP coming to MY little neighborhood, the whole place was cordoned off and military police everywhere. Pretty hard getting out, but I'm a smooth talker.

So an HOUR AND A HALF LATER, I'm SURE it must be fine--nope, every single access point to my house is still blocked. Good thing I was on a MTB because I literally rode through jungles/weeds, on the sand on the beach, to get to this dirt alley/trail cuts through a village behind the house ...

and lo and behold, at the top of the trail are military police, and I have to do all kinds of smooth talking and important-people-card-waving to get them to let me through.

1. Very good I was on the mountain bike, and not a regular bike, or God forbid in a car.
2. Very good I was doing errands, which meant I had my wallet/ID/cards with me.

Wouldn't have done it if not for the challenge.

kimk - 2010-07-22 12:22 PM ok team not sure what I was thinking as I posted my goals, I still have 4 stages to hit but I am way over on my minutes! I will not be able to get on my bike 4 times by Sunday...my legs are still a bit tight.  I can do an easy spin on Friday but will be at the kids tri on Saturday and will have my race on Sunday.

We have been getting blasted by rain, winds, and a  few tornados in the last day with more rough weather thru Saturday night here in West Michigan. So do I chance it and head out for my 100 miler now or hit the trainer? What to do?
