Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Oct 2008) Its gettng Spooky out there.Saling-- Now you know, first hand, what I was getting at, when I was doing the other 2-3 rounds of the 90 day thing... Yoga is wonderful. I was skeptical at first too. But I'm not sure if it was my reluctance to get my butt wooped. Yoga is an entire body workout. It WILL get your heart pumpin at times, it WILL help with correcting your breathing, definately straighten your posture, and improve flexability, not to mention muscle elongation (when considering tri's as an endurance sport ) should help to improve short twitch muscle reaction times, as well as overall tone and definition. I think it's a must have in the world of athletics, besides what's one day of relaxation (no strict cardiovascular routine ) vs. an 8-10 mi. run???
To anybody else: this is my rundown of the P90X yoga routine (1 hr. 32 min ), start with some sun salutations, and moving vinyasa's, go into poses, and then a tremendous stretching/relaxation routine to help round it out. One thing I forgot to mention, it definately will help improve the connective tissue bonds and reduce problems faced with range of motion as age increases. And if nothing else, it certainly beats taking vitamin/dietary supplements any day of the wk. |
