I'd steal those and they'd be a pain to get open without that key. Eventually we just stole one of the keys. That made things so much easier. Some of these new plastics they package things in? Almost freaking industructable. The last couple food items have some thin plastic like plastic wrap you buy on a role around them. Seems like you could grap a corner and tear, or push a finger through it. Nope. It is some tough freak'n stuff. Subject: RE: TAN #64 - A Case of Temporary InTANity mr2tony - 2009-01-13 3:27 PM I dont mind living in the gay areas of town. Gay people are fun. Oh, DuPont is cool. But it's probably the only place I'd live in, except maybe Tenleytown, up by American University, near the MD border, but it's mostly students out that way, and really expensive houses. I have friends who live elsewhere and I've always been REALLY sketched out going to their houses at night. One of them, within a few months of living there, had their car stolen right out from in front of their condo. The police actually found the car a few months later, but everything of value in the car was gone, obviously. I don't know - I wouldn't feel safe in most parts of the city. You're a guy, so it might be different. Arlington is cool, though and there are definitely many young professionals who live out here in NoVA. |

I just lived in a country where everything was pirated and cheap, and came out before its release in the U.S. I bought some pirated DVD's in Manila. I figured, for $1 each, for movies that were still in theaters, how bad could it be? Turns out, some of them were when someone took a hand held camera to the back of the theater, and just shot it, and put it on DVD. It was SO bad, it was funny. |

Arlington/Northern Virginia I wouldn't want to live in DC, to be honest. Dupont Circle is probably the best, but it's very pricey. Dupont (I lived there), West End, Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, Adams Morgan, Tenleytown, pretty much all of Northwest .. Arlington/NOVA stinks |

Arlington/NOVA stinks G-Town isn't bad, but too many college kids. Same with Foggy Bottom. Adams Morgan is college-y at night and also kinda sketch. If you stay close to the Red Line in Northwest, you are pretty good, but the farther you get from the metro, the worse it gets. Northeast and Southeast are a no-go - like I said, I have friends who live there, but I don't like going there, at all. Southwest doesn't really exist - it's Arlington County. |

G-town is nice, and college towns are fun to visit, but I don't know if as an adult, I'd want to live within a stone's throw of a bunch of drunken frat boys. Plus, I'm not sure what's in G-town that's really affordable. The row houses are off the charts and the rest of it is prime river-front property which is way pricey. If you went in towards Farragut West, it might not be too bad and that's a nice area, actually. I worked there for a little while. |
