bluwatersoul - 2009-10-03 12:27 PM pretty muggy today and light drizzle - I managed a very underwhelming 3 miles after biking a 15 mile loop on the crampiest set of pins I've had in a loooong time..... I think I was worried about getting seriously rained on. I don't know WHY...the humidity and my o so efficient cooling system had me dripping wet when I was done anyway....

Nothing underwhelming about that workout!  Especially in the rain!  I hate running in the rain.

i actually kind of like running in the rain...beats the treadmill

anything beats the dreadmill!

no doubt!

Well hello team!!
I have finally figured out what my goal is going to be: 40 miles. I know it isn't much but its the best I have ever done so its good as gold from my point of view. Tongue out
Tomorrow will be my first run for the month. My plan 4 miles. Laughing I REALLY hope it isn't as cool as it was today cause I dont really like running inside. The track isn't bad I just prefer to be outside thats all.
Anyhoo I really wish I had more time to chat with everyone cause I would love to get to know you all better... But it's still fun to check out the board when I can and read up, so dont stop k?! Wink
Talk to you all later.

OK -- I know I must be busy at work!!!!!! SHEESH!!!!   I look at the blog last on the 1st , and we're 5 pages later -- I'm going to have to pull out my planner to keep up!!!! --- Got to hold up my ernd of the bargain.

This feels like old home week/month --- lets see -- there's Kat (Worlds Best Tour Guide), Mila (who loves making Sal Puke), Sal (the monster I created -- just sayin), Her Majesty - Queen Zip (who's a wonderful motivator -- minus that cattle prods....), and a bunch of other fun names I recognize!!!!   Gonna be a fun month in the Crypt, that's for sure!

Well for me, Had my first official run of the month and completed 6 wonderful miles -- and yes Sal, Mila, Judi --- I did it with NOT ONE STEP WALKED!   Sal, you need to start getting askeered.  I may get to you owing me steak again!!!!  (Well, I can dream can't I!

Last time you came to Richmond you never even called me.  So if you head to Richmond again you need to notify me for the steak.  Contrary to popular belief I can cook

In my defense (I'm usually pretty much defenseless) I'm not sure that I knew who you were last time I was in Richmond.  All that aside.  We can set a steak challenge -- or even dinner if ya wanna.... just sayin!

Sure...when  are you in Richmond again?

I don't know.  It's not currently (unfortunately) on my travel calendar.   Right now I'm looking at mexico, ethiopia, NYC, and tahiti -- (The joys of working for a global company).  Don't know if they will all pan out, but I'd love to visit the last place

I'm all for Tahiti as well...long as your favorite encourager gets to pack bags & go too

Hmmm,..... not even sure I get to go yet... but I am taking a waiting list.   But I do have a feeling that Mrs. UTTriman might have an issue with me heading out to Tahiti without her  (especially with a Queen and a Princess).. but other tag-a-longs are welcome....Sal, you gonna join in?

I assumed that was a given.  Plus you need someone to make sure you keep up on your marathon training.

And Mila needs someone to boss around and carry her bags...

Donskiman - 2009-10-03 12:30 PM 10K race went well today. New PR by over a minute. With the warmup, race, and recovery run later, I got in a bit over 10 miles.

Congrats! Over a minute PR in a 10k is awesome!

I LOVE running in the rain, and I love running when it's cold... not so much when it's cold AND rains though. Oh, and I would do most anything to stay off the dreadmill.

I totally agree, anything to stay off the dreadmill.  I don't like the rain, but would rather that.  I do however love running in the snow.

It's all good Min....quality over quantity!  I'm only doing 31 miles for the month, a mile per day (average) so you're right in my league.  The last thing I can afford to do is trash my knees and feet, and focusing on taking it easy is my #1 goal.  Nice job getting out there!!

MDHillSlug - 2009-10-01 6:39 AM Hi Sarah,

You can state/log your goal as hours, no problem. I'm so impressed that you're doing an IM! It's like I've watched you grow up ;-)

I'm excited to be on a challenge with you fabulous ladies again!  It might seem to you like I've grown up, but to me, it feels like I'm a 10 year old trying out for the major leagues...

I'll agree on the DREADMILL.  And, I do want to correct something.  A light mist (if warm) isn't bad to run in.. It's heavy rain that I hate.   I also like running in the snow, that crunch, crunch under foot is a neat sound on fresh snow...(as long as there is not ice under it)....but -- snow is virtually non-existant here in the Dallas area.  So maybe I'll get lucky when we go to my inlaw's in Utah for Thanksgiving.

Need to update the SS but I did slog yesterday in some sort of charity event I was in charge of.  It was either that or take a hip hop class.  Talk about the lesser of two evils... .

Mrs. UTT would find me charming and entertaining.  I could hang out with her while you "work" which really, let's face it, is a stretch... "work" in Australia?  "work" in Tahiti?  I think not...

I like the dreadmill but only if it's a fancy Woodway one.  I also love, as in LOVE, my trainer because riding the trainer is pretty much the only time I ever watch movies or t.v.  It's also possible that I have a system whereby my children and I have walkie talkies and should I need anything they fetch it for me... they are very familiar with Accelerade, Gu, shot blocks, Infinit, Gel Bursts and, of course, Trader Joe's PB filled pretzels.
