Right now there are so many mentor groups that you can fall onto the second page if you don't post enough and get bumped up to the top.  Every so often we fall onto that second page.

So, when are you heading down to Florida?

Good luck this weekend!

Thank you!  I leave tomorrow... my flight leaves from Milwaukee at 1:30pm, arriving around 5:30 in FL.  However I have to drive from Green Bay; that is two hours.  But they are predicting 1-6 inches of snow for tomorrow...   I just want to get up in the air and then I can relax!

Pam, have an awesome race!! Don't go out to fast, stick to your nutrition, and stick to your plan! Looking forward to your race report! Do you have a bib number you can give us so we can track you some? Travel safe!

Anyone have a good method of beating a cold, seriously, it's been a week now and it's gotten somewhat better, but each day is something different + the normal hacking.  Anyhow, today was the headache and coughing and it was horrible until about 4PM, what the heck...MAKE IT GO AWAY!

I have been in the pool 2 days in a row though, and hope to make it 3, but that might depend upon the artic blast that is supposed to hitus here.  We are having some light precipitation tonight, and if that freezes...Texans can't drive in that crap!

Brittany -

You might want to see a Doctor.  Maybe you have a sinus infection.  I swear by the day-quil / night-quil combination.  I've also had some luck with mucinex.  Other than that get plenty of sleep and fluids.  I also am a believer that training through a cold helps. Smile  (unless you have lung issues, of course)

Hi all,

Brittany - I have no help when it comes to colds and getting better. I am usually a miserable sick person and all i'll do is sleep.  I hope it clears soon for you!

I was up and at 'em for a short swim this morning.  Again, pleasantly surprised that the resolutioners seem to be avoiding the gym in the morning! :D Although, as I was leaving I saw the guy that holds on for dear life when he runs on the treadmill.  Seriously dude, just slow down a bit and you might be able to let go of your death grip!

I have a tempo run tonight and then i am off tomorrow. I am feeling pretty tired so I am looking forward to a day of complete rest.

Last night, my fiance was encouraging me to register for the 70.3 he's doing - and is my tentative goal. I am still scared but he endorsed my overall tri plan which is good. We'll see, I am going to be starting to agonize over it soon!

Wish I had some miracle solution for you Brit.  I'm fighting one myself.  I do find that the congestion clears up a great deal after my run or bike workouts.  I also feel much better after the workouts.  Hang in there!!

Anybody use the BT graphing tools for looking at their Garmin data (HR/Pace/Time/Distance) from biking/running workouts?  From what I've seen so far the graphs (for data imported from a device) are a bit primitive on BT.  Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?  TrainingPeaks and the software that came with the Garmin have some really nice line charts that track a lot of the detail during a workout.  I would really prefer to have all my stuff on BT.  Thought perhaps some more experienced users might be able to point me in the right direction.

Well, the cold is getting better, and this morning I didn't have a headache and actually got to the pool to swim and Hilde met me.  We had to share a lane for a bit of the workout and we whacked each other a few times.  She can attest that I had the coughs a bit, but generally I think it's improving. I don't think it's a sinus infection, just a mean cold.  It's lasting awhile with all of us that got it, and it seems to be rampant everywhere here.  But, again, doing much better. I have to tell myself not to be a weenie tomorrow when I have to run....it's supposed to the teens and windy...brrr. My face is already wind burned from unit PT this morning.  If it weren't for the wind, I don't think it'd be so bad.

Jeff--yes, the Garmin software will show you more when it comes to HR, speed, etc.  Basically you'll see HR and Pace here, and how much of what you see depends upon how you've set your Garmin up to record your data.  If you want to see every half-mile, then you need to set it up to record data that way.  The Garmin import functions are fairly recent, like over the last year.  So, I guess it really depends upon what data you analyze and want to analyze.

You and Hilde should be swimming circles most of the time. It's a good thing to get use to, plus when one of you starts to catch the other... that's where the fun is.

Oh how I HATE swimming circles!  Side by side is fine, and I don't mind bashing each other... I can see Britt just fine without crashing into her FEET.  We only bumped because we were even steven!

Okay, so I totally weenied out on a 4.5 mile run this afternoon.  Wind chill is 18, wind is 20 mph, gusts to 40.  I came home and was truly debating whether or not to bundle up and go outside, or do the dreaded dreadmill, stopped to check my email and BT to find out the dogs had chewed through the internet cable, GRRRRRRRRR.  Not the first time, I've gotten quite good at cable repair.  I think I should get a job at Time Warner!   So Britt and I may BOTH be braving the icy cold fingers of Texas tomorrow morning!  (I say "may" for me, I'm sure Britt will HTFU and get it done, no weenieness in that girl!)

You just listed more reasons to swim in circles if you ask me.

Let me save you Hilde, I'll be right up front and tell you I know better, I know it'd be nuts to go out in the predicted 2 degree windchill. So I'll ride on the trainer in the morning and hit the run after work.  It will still be cold, but it won't AS bad. So, I'm not to be some hero and give it a shot, nope.  I'm doing my Sat run in the afternoon (1ish) with some friends, so I don't mind doing my run in the afternoon.  I may have to with the unit in the morning though...

PAM- we're rooting for you!!

haha took a picture of my race wheel collection. Luckly I spent nowhere near retail for any of those wheels(all brand new except the red zipp), but the amount of money those wheels represent is a bit scary.

I can't tell you how GLAD I am that Britt gave me permission to NOT run this morning, OMG it is COOOOLLLLDDDD!  Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day... but I hope to make up the run and possible do a bike (NOT outside!).  Swim on tap this afternoon, helping out a newbie swimmer, so not sure how much of workout I'll get, but I'm glad to be able to help someone out!

Stephen, it is ostentatious to flaunt your wheel wealth, just sayin'...  JK!

What's everyone else have on tap? I've got a 8 mile run planned, but the weather isn't helping with getting that done. Then a 4000yd swim workout later.

Easy bike this morning (trainer). Hey funny, I have 8 miles too--wonder where I got that from...I think I'll be slathering vaseline under my nose, wearing a gaiter, a beanie cap, my cold weather tights with compression shorts, actually compression socks, only cause they are long and will stay up on my legs vs. short socks, a long sleeve shirt, maybe two, and a jacket, and gloves, and I don't know what else, but I think all this stuff may slow me down.  Those up north, you have permission to laugh.

Nice wheels Stephen, good grief! What kind of car do you drive and do the race wheels have more worth than your car??

Good morning!!

It's a nice sunny morning here in Toronto. We got a teeny bit more snow so it brightens things up a bit!!!  What's on tap for me? A rest day. Scheduled. And I need it. I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning.

I went and did some tempo running on the treadmill last night and I was worried that i had lost some speed but aside from being really sweaty it was just fine.  Although, i did take it a little easier than i wanted but it's a TMI that can be read on my training log. :S
