Nice link to check statuus prior to leaving.

http://www.wibeaches.us/apex/f?p=BEACH:DAILY:1844209281608425

Assuming recent heavy rains and Milwaukee's  ability to dump a will are the problem.

Although the website has a caution warning , today the big read stop sign was out.

Thanks for the info.  I was planning to come to town on Wednesday to swim/ride and run so hopefully it will clear by then!

Weird, I looked at the link and it says North Beach is open???

Yup, they hadn't gotten out to take the sign down from the day before, checked back later and it had been taken off.

Hey Pete: All still well with the beaches?  Link says they are open....heading to Racine first  thing in the morning.  Hope the Obama visit doesn't screw up the bike course!

Everything looks good.

Swam yesterday in the Lake and  it was clear, flat and a little refreshing (not too cold). Swiming again tomorrow & Friday

Rode half of the course today and you shouldn't have any bike course problems with POTUS in town. I've been taking Highway C instead of Highway 20 (to avoid 55 mph craziness)

TriWI is riding the course on Sat, wheels out at 7:30, there are a few of us getting there early to swim before the ride.

yep, ben and I (and whomever else got word) will be in the water by 6:30 and swim for 45 min, then be ready to leave with TriWI group at 7:30.  then there has been "rumor" about an hour (give or take) run afterwards.

I plan to arrive at North beach by 6:10am.

It looks to be a BEAUTIFUL day on sat.

Agreed! It was a good ride for me, the legs moved for the run after and the "ice bath" in the lake worked cuz I am not sore this morning!

I have a question about the race area. My wife will be there hanging out during the day. Is there places to eat/shops or anything like that in the area?

Thanks!

That buoy is an iceberg, sorry folks, the reality is the water is very cold right now. Sub 60's based on my numbness factor.

The Lake is a funny thing.  I'm On the Michigan side and the temp is 74 right now.  I'll send some of the warm water back that way.
