Another cold commute today - not enough to work on catching Darren but November points are always welcome around here.

Off to Colorado and Arizona next week - probably will be pointless there

Sunrise bike ride might be the only way to generate points for a while here....

I love that the rules let me rack up points for walking my dogs!

One quick question on the temprerature points - where there is a windchill factor, should I be taking the points for the actual temperature, or for the windchill? For example, tonight I took my dogs for a walk; the Weather Network says the temp was -2 (celcius), but felt like -9. Can I claim 3 temperature points (for the -9) or just 1 (for the -2)? Is the wind variable supposed to account for this difference?

Shame it was 12c (53f) today as I'm sure the 43mph winds I was running in would have raked up some nice points. Thankfully it looks like it will finally start to get cold in a week - 10 days!

Logged a miserable 20 miler today. 28 degrees the whole time. Snow flurries. Headwinds bad!! and racked up some major points. Now if I could remember the challenge password. lol. It was not a fun one but it had to be done.

Yippee! Finally rode my bike out in the cold. 34 degrees, 13mph winds and my fingers and toes were going numb by the time I got home. BRRRRR!!! LOVe riding on deserted roads though - early sunday am rides. No other riders out but plenty of dog walkers and runners. My new fatter tires feel rock solid.

My brakes on the front though seemed to be rubbing by the time I got home too...think I just need to grease them up so they don't stay clamped shut in a frozen lock-down. LOL

Ohhh the cruel temptations - it is 34.5 degrees out, windy, and raining and I could go for a run but I am tired from my ride home but there are points to be had tonight.

Oh what do I do???

Really it is only a 25 min run max * 3.0 points = 75 points - is it worth it?  Does Lenny or Darren or someone else beat me by 74 points and I look back at tonight and say if only?  Do I shower and just call it a night (I also just went to the Y with my son for an hour to shoot around and lift a little)?  Do I run for points? Do I run for the love of it?

Nah - good night

Good call. I was doing the same thing Saturday morning...rainy out, no real points cuz temp too high...hadn't had a chill day in a while...family stuff going on...so I pushed off the run and chilled. It was all good.

Dude! You are an animal! 20 miles in wind, snow and 28 degrees! wow! I'm pretty slow so if it were me out there doing that run, I'd likely have had my nose fall off after my 3.5 hours out there! LOL Nice job!

Just wondering if it's too late to join this...?  Is it monthly or cumulative from October?

No worries - just thinking it might motivate me to get out there on the cold miserable days

Probably cool (hehe) to join anytime. We didn't start tallying points until November. And November is a pretty inconsistent month for the most part. CWWC Champions aren't made in November.

You could even go back with your log and a weather website and document your November workouts.

Nice job getting out on the bike. Just can't get myself to bike in the cold.

darn crazy weather. 5C at 6 this morning. I thought for sure some points, was supposed to be -2C. Weird. Nice run though.

Hey, does anyone understand chemistry and physics and stuff like that. Like why in the world if it is 5C out and has been above 0 for a number of days (although freezing a bit a night) why is there still some ice on the sidewalk and road. I don't get it.

Thank goodness for this challenge. Before this I had to be satisfied with leaving the house at the same time  my wife went to work and then running 37  miles to her job before she got off in 8 hours. I made it with 15 minutes to spare and was freezing because I hadn't brought a key for her vehicle. Thank you Crappy Weather challenge for focusing and channelling my suffering.lol

I want to be you when I grown up. Wow.

I finally got some points tonight -- 28 degrees out for my 42 minute run. Just perfect with two pairs of gloves on. :-) I love my new head lamp. I know I look like a dork, and I don't even care.

Finally got some more points.  Only the third time!

If someone had told me I'd have only three bike rides below 40F by December 1st...I wouldn't have believed them.
