I'm grasping at straws right now to figure out something to do to drop lbs and workout.  I idealistically plan to do tri training and/or lifting and cardio but can't get in the groove to do it more than a couple days in a row.

Maybe if I JUST run?  That's pretty easy.  Just go for a 4-6 mile jog every day?  It's not going to get be buff or in tri shape, but it's SOMETHING.

Maybe you are just bored.  Try something new, or something you don't get to do often.  Mountain biking?  Martial arts classes?  Ballet?  You might be more likely to do something you are actually looking forward to, rather than "ugh, i should run today..."

Bored is the truth...

And what's worse, is I found new interests that I LOVE doing right now, but they offer no physical benefit (even if it's mental).  I started new crafts/projects, reading, and strategy/urban planning games.

I guess.  I set some races as goals this spring, and blew right past the start date on my plans with out much effort...

Oh well.  Maybe NOT having goals is the ticket.  Just go out and run every night for the joy of running - not for any goal.

I should dust off the MTN bike.  That's one of the few times I ride just to ride, and not to train.

Kinda sounds like burn out there.  Just do something for the joy of feeling your body move without worrying about the clock or the "goal" for a while.

That is something that does the trick.  But then I got a wife who seems to love me just the same fluffy!  If I were single....

Granted, I'm sure she would like me fitter, but she don't judge...  Ask me that in 50 more lbs though.

Yeah.  I used to LOVE being active!  Now I'm taking joy in just relaxing!  Enjoying good food, drink, cooking, reading, projects...  I need a good balance.

Since I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel for motivation, I'm thinking running might be the trick.  Going to the gym or lifting or getting geared up to bike is too much effort at the moment.  Throwing on a fleece and my running shoes is about as much prep effort I can muster.

Then do it!!!!  But do it just for the joy of it not to make a time or do a workout; see the sights, listen to music or the sounds of your feet hitting pavement or what ever gets you zoned.

ha!  I only play an athlete on TV.  Yeah, I bet when I get out to the desert and remember how "spiritual" it is (without sounding too corny), it may be easier to get back out.  It happens every time.  I get out there and ask myself why I'm not doing that every weekend.  Then go hard for a couple months before getting on the TT bike.

What's your email and phone #?

Just curious, no reason.......    ::shifty eyes::

Edit:

This was kinda like that.  We had the meeting on Monday, then on Tues afternoon he comes by my desk and want to schedule a meeting to go over some other stuff, but "it'll only take 15 minutes", so I tell him to just swing bby when he gets time and we can talk it through.   Yeah, he comes by and by the end I was wanting to self-administer a lobotomy.  Fun day

In related news, I'm anxious to see if the replacement blanky comes in the mail today as expected, or if there will be yet another sleepless night at his house.

The token female Canadian here.  I am intrigued and concerned all at the same time.  What is this world?  I was using the forum as a way to avoid my run in minus temps this morning and ended up sucked in by the words "cookies" and "bacon".

But while I am here, explain to me about the "dark" thing and Canadians.  It is funny/strange because a friend just posted on FB this week that while in Mexico he got asked by a guy from Chicago if all Canadians are afraid of the dark.  He thought he was kidding but he said he wasn't.  We have no idea what that means.  Enlighten your northern neighbours Wink

I've heard my co-worker (radio guy) tell the story about his daughter losing her blanky literally 10 times now. For the love of god. Stop telling the story.

In related news, I'm anxious to see if the replacement blanky comes in the mail today as expected, or if there will be yet another sleepless night at his house.

I will update you tomorrow.

Yell

Dang it Lisa....why did you tell us that. Now, I'm going to be up all night wondering..... There goes my Valentines Day. Thanks a lot.

Will the update be via email, or email with a phone call follow up?

We're scheduling a meeting to discuss.

Will there be a Webex?
