My wife had a bad reaction to her colitis treatment, so I spent my spare time with her in then hospital. She was released last night and things are almost back to normal. Expert 1480 Somewhere in the Swamps of Philly | Subject: RE: Team Trisuppo - OPEN Been out of pocket for a while. Was supposed to head out to Colorado to ski Vail, but a major snowstorm resulted in both flight and trip cancellations. Literally no flights anywhere over an already busy holiday weekend so a major bummer and a lot of stress. Fast forward, 14" of snow later and I'm driving to work on Friday on the PA turnpike. Icy, sun glare and people going too fast. Semi trailer in from of me locks up and starts to slide, move to the right lane, a Jeep Cherokee and a Ford F150 collide and shrapnel everywhere. No choice but to pitch my car into a snow bank on the road shoulder. Miraculously, no injuries and slight bumper damage. Massive pile up of over 100 cars, 6 miles of backed up traffics and a 6 hour wait to get out. No fatalities just lots of shaken up folks with moderate to minor injuries. Spent the time helping out where I could. Rescuers has to cut a pregnant woman out of her car, lots of facial injuries from air bag releases, but nothing life threatening. Adversity really does bring out the best in people. Recipe for PTSD was a couple of beers and some really bad for me food. Back at it soon. |

Joe, sorry to hear all the bad news, but very glad to hear that you came out ok from the big pile up. I actually heard about it in the news. I'm positive better things will be coming your way! |

Expert 1109 Guatemala | Subject: RE: Team Trisuppo - OPEN Adding for yesterday, 1hr in the drainer and today a good 70 mile, 4:45 min ride w/ 5000ft of climbing. I actually felt really good during my ride today which shows that enduring the 9 day tour of Sufferlandria on the trainer is paying off. I'm now off to my cousin's wedding which should be a fun never-ending party! Gabe 14 23:54:47 |

Extreme Veteran 1648 | Subject: RE: Team Trisuppo - OPEN Wow Joe what a bummer! Vail pass was closed most of the night so it would have been a rough trip even if you got out. Forecast for tomorrow Is 40s with a rain snow mix. Funny, all of the regulars here skipped the mountain today. I'm only 8 minutes from Winter Park right now, but skipped it since everyone in my family except me for now has the flu. I did hit the cross country loop for a little over an hour. I heard a lot of the lifts were closed due to high winds- berthoud pass measured 100mph gusts. Just trying to make you feel a little better! Skiing is usually best in March if you can re-schedule. Everyone starts jonesing for spring and by April it's totally not crowded and awesome. I actually prefer April skiing- but conditions can be unpredictable- the past few years they have closed with a ton of snow still on the mountain but there have been years you could barely get down the front side of vail with all of the mud - that said the back stays good! Glad you were okay in the wreck! |

Glad you were okay in the wreck! Appreciate the intelligence. A buddy of mine runs the Vail Daily so he gave me the live play by play. My college roommate lived in Vail for about 8 years so I spent many weeks in March skiing. Not much better than Spring skiing. Should be a great Spring season in CO. Just hope you all avoid the floods from last year. Your comment about XC hurts - I love those skinny skis and get such infrequent use of them that I'm jealous. |

Can U point me to the post about what you guys are doing with the point system. I am sorry to have to ask. Just point me to the page and I'll do the rest! Thanks for your help After being down and out for 3 weeks with the flu, this last week has been awesome getting back to some training. I lost some fitness and this damn nagging cough is killing my run for sure but I'm slowly getting back there.

No worries. You get 1 point for each day where you achieve at least 30 minutes of Swim, Bike or Run (If you swim, bike and run all in one day the most points you get is still 1). You also total your entire time spent Swimming, Biking and Running for the month. "Winner" is the one with the most points. Tie breaker is total time spent S/B/Ring during the month. |

Extreme Veteran 576 | Subject: RE: Team Trisuppo - OPEN Sprint Tri went well Gabe. Finished 2nd. Its was with a group from our Church. 11 adults and 5 teams. I was a little slower in the water 6-7th but 3 out of T1. Rode very hard as I needed to have at least 2mins on the fastest runner and the guy who won the last few races. Hit the lead on the bike with 3km to go and then rode hard to try and increase the gap. Got about a minute lead but could not push hard enough to hang on for the run. Was a nice location and good company. 7km jog. Expert 1109 Guatemala | Subject: RE: Team Trisuppo - OPEN Matthew, congrats on your Sprint tri and reaching the podium, great effort! I'm swamped with work this week but have some tri related events at least to look forward to. On Thursday we are launching the Guatemala Long Distance Tri Club and the highlight will a gathering with Rachel Joyce for the event. On Saturday we will have a bike ride with Rachel (same as we did with Chrissie Wellington last year) and then I will be doing a last minute Olympic tri on Sunday, which will be interesting considering I have hardly run in the last two months due to an ITB injury. Today a 55 min drainer workout Gabe 16 25:50:36 |
