SSMinnow - 2011-06-08 2:31 AM Dang it's early, but it's still WEDNESDAY!!!  Who is planning some bigtime racing this weekend?  Spill the beans!

Nothing for me just off to swim meets this weekend

Well, Bryce killed the MG!

I am doing an Oly Sunday with Linda and Cheri!  Silicon Valley International Tri.  Hoping for good weather that is not too hot!  Will be soaking the wetsuit in the tub tonight to stretch it out.

Finished 5th in my race tonight, couldn't outsprint a 15 year old girl for 4th...

To make matters worse she and her coach asked if I was one of our 17 year old juniors dad...

Tony - do you have these conversations with yourself???

Part II here

Nice job tonight  even if you got chicked by a 15 year old

Now that hurts. Badly.

Hey, Hey, Hey .... be careful!  There are several members of this MG that are parents of those 17 year olds.  Some of them even race, all be it slower, in Tony's AG!

and some are even grandparents

Nice job on the race Tony, even if you did get chicked by a 15 year old

There is NOTHING wrong with that... if you have 17-year-olds. But when your oldest is what, 9? 10? Then it hurts. I am closer to the parenting of a 17-year-old than I care to admit, mind you! Ha!!

Just kidding, Kyla... the funny thing is Tony is only a year younger than me, so he very well could be the father of a 17 year old, hah!

True, I did tell them I was plenty old enough to be his father, but as Kyla said when your oldest is only 7, it just makes it funny.  The 17 year old is acutually one of my better friends on the team, we do most of the same races.  We were going to give him a ride to the race last weekend and Sam and I were joking that he is closer in age to our 7 year old then he is to us.

some sad news coming out of imtx.  apparently there was a collision around mile 70 on the bike between an athlete and a spectator. i knew about it but thought the man was ok.  just found out he passed away.  damn.  80 year old man.  pretty much an icon in the community.   awful.

I don't think there are really any lanes in the congested parts of NYC...cars, buses, taxis, bikes.  They all kind of mix in together.  The cyclists that I have seen in the touristy parts of NYC are some crazy SOBs.  Weaving in and out of traffic, often without helmets.

Good Luck racing peeps!

I'm running the Edge to Edge marathon Sunday. Should be a beautiful and fun course. It's along the coast on Vancouver Island, BC.  Never been to that area before...  excited to head up there tomorrow!

Wow, you are the marathon queen. It sounds awesome! Enjoy

BIG NEWS!

No stress fracture!!!!!  Apparently, I have a bruised 2nd met head.  No running the rest of the week, some wicked prolotherapy in that 2nd met and the plantar (oooh so fun), and a spanking for not doing a better job of keeping my left calf looser.

I'm throwing myself a party.
